Hi Colin, and welcome to the club. The handbook for the s type on Page 124 tells you how to switch off both front and rear sensors where both are fitted. There is a small overhead console and a switch mark "P" which controls both sets of sensors. The rear sensors only has no switch and what Kenny has said is the easiest option. Regards, Peter.

Hi Craig, I had a 2005 2.5litre AWD and it was brilliant. I would still have it if it had not been stolen. I would consider this model if you only do short distances. There are still a few about and you can get about 35 mpg on a long run. Peter.

As mine do Paul, although the first set of wipers were brilliant, and the current set is not as good. I just keep pressing the button until the screen is clean.

Titan car seat covers are worth looking at, and if you google around there are others. It would be useful if there was one locally to you as you could try them on your car. I had the same problem as you with a Triumph T100 on what is now the M6 on June 12 1964, near Preston. I remember the date well because that was the day I first took my future wife out! Hi Paul, I think that sometimes dealers will do a retrofit to please a customer, which will not show up against an original build. And sometimes a car will be classified as "a foreman's friend" and will have certain things factory fitted which do not show up on the original requirements. Backhanders to foremen are well known on the production line. Regards, Peter.

I used VinDecoderZ, Paul, and it gave me the exact specification as from Castle Bromwich. You can also check any Jaguar main dealer's site and you might find the optional extras able to be fitted. If you also google "Jaguar s type specifications" you could well find the specification for your year. Peter.

I agree, Gary. Many main dealers fit the shaped one which does look better, but most fit the rectangular one. Peter.

Hi Gary, One thing I hate about some drivers is when you come round a traffic island this type of driver , who has gone round the island in the outside lane usually, pulls straight out into the outside lane on the dual carriageway and assumes you are going to drive slowly as a Jaguar is deemed by some to be an old man's car. This happened to me last Friday with a young man in a white BMW. I just put my foot down gently and the twin turbos did their job and I was 500 yards in front of him in seconds. He tried the same manoeuvre at the next island with the same result. Stupid boy! Regards, Peter

Hi Paul, You can do it manually and there is a post with directions on it. You need nimble fingers and I did it third go. I have an OBD2 scanner but I have not tried it on that message. I will look for the directions and get back to you, Peter.

Hi Paul, There is quite a detailed procedure in the Owners handbook, and also one of the members posted a very good and detailed procedure. I have had to disconnect the battery on quite a few occasions when the park brake has been stuck. Resetting is quite easy, but connecting another battery in series is not a bad idea. You need to know the radio code before you do the job. Regards, Peter.

Hi Don, and welcome to the club. Jaguar main dealers, and main dealers of other makes too, are notorious for their charges. A good locksmith will do as good a job for a portion of the cost. I know of a few in the Midlands, but if you google "Auto Locksmiths" I am sure that you will find one within reach. Hi Chris, From what I have found --- on a Ford Forum --- is that P0251 is a generic code, and covers a multitude of issues surrounding glow plugs, injectors etc, or even a fuel leak somewhere along the fuel line. There was no mention of the fuel pump or leaking cylinders. It might be worth a second opinion. But I am not on engineer, just a former accountant, so I always Iook for the cheapest option. Hi Paul, I think there is some kind of ability to use these new fangled gadgets in cars but I don't have an iPod. Having come from the days when having a radio in a car was an optional extra, I am more than happy with a CD interchanger in the boot -- currently I have Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook, and two Ella Fitzgerald discs.
