  3. I found this--------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its a fiddely job and both C Pillar trims need removing. Behind the C Pillar trims are airbags and short plastic retaining clips which stop the C Pillar trims hitting anyone if the airbags go off. Extremely fiddly to refit as your working by feel and they are very short, they took the longest part of the time up in removing and refitting the parcel shelf trim when I had to fit a new buzzer when I had my 2002 3.0 X Type If I remember the rear seat back needs removing (if its not a folding one) If it is a folding back rest fold it forward and thers a tang to press to remove the bolsters to access the C Pillar trim ------------------------------------------------------------------- I am only guesing but are you trying to clean behind it --Flys etc . If so try this------ You could try gaffer taping a drinking straw to the end of the vacuum cleaner hose (i.e. all the air is pulled through the straw). That will be thin enough to get right to the back, and probably have enough suction to shift the most stubborn fly. Frank
  4. Sorry I thought you had a S Type .???? If its a X Type I--- "think"--not sure---- you have to replace the plastic adjusters as they are pre-set at a cost of about £25 you can get them from e-bay .??? Frank
  5. Hi Ray take a look here== http://www.justanswer.com/jaguar/4oxup-jaguar-s-type-adjust-headlights.html Frank
  6. I was really saying about whats in the papers today that they are thinking of a £10 tax for diesel cars to enter city centres .??? Frank
  7. With all the news at the moment about diesel engine cars going to be taxed more etc I think I would think before buying .???? Frank
  8. That little valve in the pump I'm talking about just stops the fuel from dropping back once your fuel pressure is back the engine will run no problem .??? I ask a fitter that I know he said---- It may be something as simple as moisture in the fuel or a problem with the fuel filter so I would recommend the fuel filter is changed now if there is any doubt its not been done for a while. ??? I suspect there may be a fuel pump problem, although it may just be a sensor which is cutting the fuel supply or not reading correctly such as a rail pressure sensor or return valve.????the fuel is being allowed to get air in it or is running back to the tank. We cannot rule out a sensor with this but its more likely to be on the fuel system, the fuel filter would be the first step. Frank
  9. I'm sorry to say I think you need a new or recon fuel pump if you have no leaks .???? because if it has a leak between the tank and the pump it will run back or there is a valve in the pump that holds the fuel from running back at fault .??? Frank
  10. Welcom back Ken and I wish you all the best in you recovery and the future . I agree salts not good . Frank

    Battery

    Thank you for that Peter I have looked on Halfords site and they recomend a- 12v Yuasa -Silver Cor Battery - with a 5yr guarantee at==£104.99 . So I think thats what I will go for because I have found in the past that cheap doesnt pay not with battery's. I will get the RAC to come and start the car then go to Halfords about 5 miles away and I see that they will fit and check the old one for £9.99 so why get dirty .???? Sounds good . Yes I will have my discount card with me. Frank
  14. Battery flat this morning can anyone tell me the best battery to fit on a --2ltr --2002 --Petrol --X Type I havent used the car for 4 days and in this cold weather the battery,s gone flat on me so I think I will be sure and fit new from Halfords .??? Frank
  15. Code reader plug just above your right knee drivers side --Well thats where mine is .???? Good Luck Frank
  16. Hi Robert if you are talking of a auto gearbox and because you have to press the footbrake to move into gear's I would first try pressing the brake harder if this doesnt help it must be a sensor that the brake trips .???? Frank
  17. What a build really great to see all the photo's and I can see the work that gone into it You must feel good that its now coming all together and looking so fantastic . Frank
  18. I think Peter will be the best to answer this and he will tell you about Terra-Clean Sevices .???? Frank
  19. Hi Matthew I agree with Peter a new battery might well be the answer. :unsure: :) If not something's on and running it down a trickel charger will add to your problem .?? Find out why it keeps going flat first .??? A good battery will perhaps cure all your problems because all sorts happens to a Jaguar with a dodgy battery. Frank
  20. Hi Jon Welcome happy motoring. Thats a nice color and looks really good . Frank
  21. It sounds like mixture at idle so I would say you have a small hole--a split pipe etc on the induction side so I would check that first .???? Frank
  22. Welcome --I love my X Type and I hope you will yours-- beautiful car . Frank
  23. I like it looks good--- years ago I had the same problem with dust and as you say dust proofing booths cost a lot of money ---I tried a set of curtains but after a few uses the dust was back again If you still have a small amount still on after the final coat.??? I found a good polish after it had weathered for a while was the answer .???? I really like the color and I think it will look fantastic when its all built up . all the best Frank
