  1. She Who Must Be Obeyed Comes from the Rumpole books written by John Mortimer. This is what he calls his somewhat draconian wife.
  2. Could really do with a link to the at least one video you mention please Robin. I just can't find anything on Google / Youtube.
  3. Possibly the satnav audio is switched off in setup Gary? In the meantime, I'll dig out the D2B connection order when I get home.
  4. Did you have JaguarVoice initially?
  5. Now I'm wondering whether music played on the phone will be linked to the car's audio system...hmmm.
  6. Mine seems to have the weight of chromium plated brass, and is certainly not magnetic.
  7. Looks great Peter. Are you pleased with it? Hmm... I'm beginning to think that there will be quite a few S Types withh leapers on the bonnet soon
  8. Just checked this out with my iPhone 6 and it does the same.
  9. Even so, that's quite a trick :)
  10. The air con problem is definitely a seized compressor Steve. Switch the air-con off and just rely on ambient air temperature until you get it replaced or else you are putting an unacceptable load on other components. Not sure about the cooling fan. Maybe you haven't got the engine warm enough yet ;) The fan also runs to assist the air-con when forward speed is low but bearing in mind your other problem I'd advise against trying that test.
  11. I'm pleased it is now fixed Stu. I agree about the somewhat restricted access... especially if you have broad shoulders I found F32 by touch, counting from the fuses further over that I could actually see.
  12. Mine is a Maisto 1/8 scale Tamas. Readily available on eBay. Not sure if they did a BRG version but could be a project to strip down and respray Here for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAISTO-1-18-31865-JAGUAR-S-TYPE-1999-METALLIC-GOLD-DIECAST-MODEL-CAR-/291436461092?hash=item43daf77c24
  13. Paul, first of all, get somebody to listen very closely to the sensors. They should be ticking. You will need to have your ear right over the sensor to detect the ticking noise. The front ones all the time, the rear ones when reverse is selected. There are, if I recall two separate modules, one for front and one for rear so it must surely be something in common rather than both modules failing at the same time.
  14. Can you be more specific with what you've done to the fibre optics please Gary?
  15. You mean the fuse just isn't in position 32 Stu?
  16. Looking in the 2002 wiring diagrams, your cigar lighter socket and aux socket in the cubby are paralleled off from the single relay in the Primary Junction fuse box (driver's footwell). Fuse 32 in the same junction box appears to control the supply. This would be a good place to start. The diagrams below are direct extracts from the 2002 wiring diagrams. Although, on my 2006 car, that relay is purely to switch the aux power socket in the boot and indeed, wasn't fitted in my car initially, the cigar lighter and cubby aux socket clearly being supplied from elsewhere.
  17. You're right there Andy. That's why I have my iPod connected in :)
  18. Mine does without any problem Andy.
  19. :D I'm so pleased that I haven't caused offence Stanley. This is one of the most friendly and civilised fora I've ever been involved with and I'd be mortified if I'd offended anybody, especially unwittingly. Yes, loads of new faces for me to meet... at the meet
  20. I wasn't doubting you Stanley :) Sorry if I gave that impression. This is the first time that I have found the wiring diagrams to be wrong. Forewarned in future though. In fact, as soon as I put the car in the garage where it's relatively dry I had the cover off the fusebox in the foot well and sure enough the relay was missing, although fuse 32 was there. Popped in a relay and away we go. Cool-box in the boot keeping cold when we drive down to Devon now :D All we need to compliment it is the warm weather that will make a picnic complete. Thanks very much for the pointer Stanley.
  21. Stanley - thanks. This is confusing. According to my wiring diagram, the relay is in the boot fuse box (relay 10).
  22. Well, fitting the socket took a few minutes I do like the way Jaguar include little things like having the wiring already in situ. Unfortunately, there is no power to the ignition controlled wire :( Relay 10 in the boot fuse box and fuse 32 in the footwell fuse box seem to be the obvious candidates. Unfortunately, it's hissing down here (would be of course, this being August Bank Holiday weekend), so diagnosis will have to wait until tomorrow.
  23. Well, yes, I did try that before mentioning it here. Perhaps you'd be helpful enough to provide some links please Robin? Clearly I've not used the right search parameters.
