  1. Installed reasonably well. As usual, Micro$oft have taken the best features and hidden them away. Ie. Control Panel. Biggest problem? Kaspersky doesn't work with Windows 10, despite their protestations that it would be fully supported. Does anybody know a mainstream Cyber protection suite that works with Windows 10 please?
  2. David, it seems unlikely that a disc upgrade would cause your problem. Although you could run the old disk and see if it cures things. Other than that, as Peter surmised, there is a physical problem in that you don't seem to be seeing insufficient satellites to get an accurate lock. I'd be inclined to begin simply by disconnecting and reconnecting the aerial to see if that helps. Other than that, there will probably be a problem in the sat nav unit itself.
  3. If you have a multimeter, you could measure the current being drawn from the battery with everything switched off and ignition off. If there is excessive current flow, it would be a case of elimination to find out the culprit. However, I'd agree with Peter and check the alternator output first. With the engine running, a voltage test across the battery terminals should give approximately 14,8 volts.
  4. Kim, this is only my personal opinion. When I first got my S Type I was contemplating a Parrot kit. They would be reasonably simple to wire in and are very effective and reliable. I've had several on previous cars. However, I had the opportunity to try the control panel in my car to see where it would look best and to be honest, it looked so out of place that it more or less convinced me to go the OEM route.
  5. I still haven't managed to minor annoyance of getting my air filter lid off yet.
  6. The folder is showing up on all six of my Windows 7 PCs Ken so initially only intend to allow it to install on one or two of the less important computers.
  7. I hope it does what it says on the tin Ken :)
  8. Has anybody installed the Windows 10 upgrade yet please? I seem to have developed a folder called $Windows.~BT of some 5GB in size with what appears to be a Windows installation inside but I've had no instructions to run the setup.
  9. Agree with Herbie 100% When my old servo was was removed and inverted, oil literally ran out of it. The later part number, fitted, I believe from 2006 to end of manufacture, addressed this problem as far as I understand it.
  10. Hi Peter, I too am from a generation where batteries were a regular maintenance item. I am not altogether convinced that modern batteries do not vent gas and would welcome the view of somebody who knows precisely what they are talking about rather than someone trying to sell me a battery. Having said that,I've now seen several S Types and none of them have a vented battery.
  11. That's a good question. The first thing I bought for my S Type was a new battery which didn't have a connection for the vent pipe. I was told that modern calcium batteries do not need to be vented.
  12. I'll need your e-mail address Dennis (via PM please, not on open forum). Also, if you let me know what you intend to do I'll know what to send you :)
  13. Thanks Peter. Tere's one just up the road from me a Essington called MVS but I was hoping somebody on here could recommend them :)
  14. Can anybody recommend an indy in the Black Country please? Preferably as near Wolverhampton as possible? Thank you
  15. OK. Let's see what the prices are :)
  16. According to the blurb I've seen, the Terraclean also cleans EGRs John?
  17. For a reasonable discount I'd be in :)
  18. We'd need to choose a central spot of course.
  19. ... but I thought this was hilarious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eWIrBOc3zE
  20. Maybe we should have a group buy Peter?
  21. Documents en route Russ :)
  22. Me too. Just waiting to be convinced :)
  23. As you say, sound isn't great with either those or the RF adaptors, in my view, plus they do not maintain the tight integration with the Jaguar system which is something I really like. I'm in Court at the moment but will send you full details on the ACM etc. when I get home this evening. To that end, please send me your e-mail address via PM :) The documents I'm thinking of are a bit more than I can attach herewith.
  24. I have one or two spare cartridges for the CDC Russ. If you went for the ACM option you will need a functioning CDC. You are correct regarding the requirement for a replacement fascia if using a non standard head unit. Personally, I prefer the OEM stup with ACM if you consider it affordable.
