  1. Fingers crossed for you Phil.
  2. Hi Andy, welcome to the club :) As far as your question goes, I can't help. I would say that choice of model is just too subjective.
  3. So when is it being done now Phil?
  4. OK, I have my camera back so here are the promised photos:- The extra weight of the umbrella has no effect on the ability of the boot-lid to auto open. The clip kits come with steel baseplates with pre drilled holes so they can be secured through the trim panel with self tapping screws without having to drill into the metalwork of the boot-lid. The clips are spring loaded. The boot-lid trim panel is so well endowed with securing clips that there is no sag because of the weight of the umbrella. I used some high density foam which I had lying around and glued it to the back of the baseplates after fitting and before replacing the trim panel in the car to ensure no rattles. Seems to work perfectly B) The umbrella, if anybody is interested, is a genuine Jaguar item. As you can see it fits perfectly in terms of length and they are cheap as chips on fleabay. Yes, the left hand clip looks slightly askew, but my Grandson did that one for me "to make sure I knew how to do it" so I'm happy as it is. Not really noticeable in use :)
  5. Please let us know how you get on Phil :)
  6. That bit does Andy, but I meant the whole plastic assembly, so that I can completely remove the trim panel.
  7. Does anybody know how to remove the boot lid trim panel please? No problem geting the plastic clips out but a bit lost as to removing the plastic cover over the latch mechanism. Any advice gratefully received
  8. Presumably, the seller has taken on the responsibility of ensuring that it all works before you hand over the cash Phil?
  9. You can Phil, but there is no definitive answer as to whether it works. It appears to make things available. but only until the ignition is turned off. I was going to give it a try when I installed my CDC but didn't need to.
  10. Yes. I was wondering whether it might cause premature wear. merely an idle surmise.
  11. If you did want to have the facility, it is a fairly simple retro-fit David.
  12. Good decision Ian :) Welcome to the club. Hopefully, as you bring your car up to standard, theclub and members will be able to help with any questions you might have. I've only had my S Type a few months but still catch myslef looking back at her when I've parked.
  13. True Andy. It got me thinking though.
  14. Hi Will, Welcome to the club :) What you do in terms of servicing, I would suggest, depends upon what service history you have and how much you trust it. Personally, whenever i get a new car I like to start at "Day One" so I have it fully serviced as far as routine items are concerned and while that is taking place my mechanic checks everything else. Enjoy your new car :)
  15. In fact you are right Andy. I first looked at the picture on my phone so couldn't see the detail.
  16. What's happening with the Bluetooth Barry?
  17. I tend to drive away with the EHB engaged as it automatically dis-engages as soon as the car starts to move, rather than putting my foot on the footbrake and then depressing the EHB lever. I was told today that such an action is a big no no but with no adequate explanation as to why. What are people's opinions please?
  18. Well, we've now got enough to qualify for group entry rates :) More would be welcome though.
  19. Phil, pressing the Voice button mutes the audio and awaits an instruction.
