  1. Hi I picked up a like feed from the fuse box Also if your fog/drl has 3 wires on it, 1 feed 12v for fog and 1 feed for drl and 1 earth, if you have connected them to the original fog wiring, then when you switch the fogs off, the drl will also go off, as the jaguar switches the earth off, which will turn both fog and drl off cheers Joe
  2. Hi I sprayed the insides of the sills, with wurth cavity wax, creeps in every where, stops it and will save them long term cheers Joe
  3. Hi and Welcome Simon It may be worth swapping you expansion tank cap, you may all ready done so with the new expansion tank but it may be the cause of some of the leaks, if the pressure in the system is getting too high, due to a faulty cap cheers Joe
  4. Hi Found this while looking through JTIS Its in the Pre Delivery Inspection Here stype_pdi.pdf but more interesting in the section " effects of battery disconnection " I found this below So if your car is driving strange after disconnecting the battery and its a auto, it may be worth trying may be worth adding to the battery reset doc cheers Joe
  5. Hi I used the standard Jaguar relays, micro relays like in the fuse box, picked up about a dozen from my local scrapyard for a couple of quid the relay 1 converts the negative switched to a positive switched and add relay 2 if you want the DRL to go off when the main lights come on converted my fogs to led DRL and LED fogs, I also converted the indicators to DRL/indicator, here a link to my conversion, which can just be unplugged when no longer wanted DRL/INDICATOR relay number are correct for jaguar/ford micro relays cheers Joe Fogs I used on my S-type
  6. Hi according to jaguar workshop manual, 6.7 litres engine and filter cheers Joe
  7. Hi I sure Ive seen this in the past, Sure its in one of the menu's on your touch screen You can turn them on and off, in there somewhere cheers Joe
  8. Hi James and welcome See your not too far from me Post a pic of your ride, I will look out for you and we all like pics on here cheers Joe
  9. Hi If the x-type is like the s-type, its because they use switched negative earth so you will need two relays to get them to work, the jaguar uses a permanent feed to the light, then the control module switches the earth to bring the light on if you get stuck, let me know and i will do you a quick drawing cheers Joe
  10. Hi It needs the park position reteaching, needs software plugging in to do it If you leave the switch in auto, every time you get out, the steering wheel moves out of the way and when you get back in, put the ignition key in, it moves back to the memory position best option is to leave the switch in column postion, then it wont move when you turn the ignition off cheers Joe
  11. Hi That run should do it, its not the speed you need, just keep it in a lower gear and keep the revs a little higher when the DPF get blocked and regens, there's a heater inside the DPF and along with some higher revs, the higher temp generated, burns the soot off, into ash and clears the DPF as for the oil quantity, which jaguar are you talking about cheers Joe
  12. Hi and welcome Post some pic up, I would be interested what the XJS looks like I do all my own work, at least if you do it yourself, you know its done right cheers Joe
  13. Hi Yes I can remember that, you could also get some decoke spray that was the same cheers Joe
  14. Hi Your still driving a S-type, the XF uses the same floor pan as the S-type, thats why its so good. cheers Joe
  15. Hi Yes, If you look on Youtube there's loads of video's It works to a fashion, as long as its used in small doses, even smaller doses on a diesel, as you can't squash water, it hydraulics, so you can bend things easy but if you have ever cleaned a dirty valve or egr, while its off, it takes some serious scraping, so a bit of water ain't going to shift any long term carbon build up it does'nt shift oily residues either, like on leaky turbo's, or oil build up in intercoolers, but you can buy solvent based ones that will shift the oily residues cheers Joe
  16. Hi Sorry it meant to say Sills, Just edited it every thing else can be replaced, so there not really a issue If the sills just have light surface rust, a good clean, treatment and waxoyl coating will stop the rust for years yes the clips are on ebay, the covers just pull off, once the plastic screws underneath have been removed when you pull them off, some of the clips will break cheers Joe
  17. Hi and Welcome The S-type Is quite a Comfy Cruiser, if looked after, Post some pics up of your ride, we like pics on here Cheers Joe
  18. Hi What Keith said, I got my S-type R because its a Jaguar and fast, 4.2 and supercharged and the V8 sounds superb!!! Why would one buy a Diesel Jaguar ????, Its like say a Diesel Ferrari, Why???, Then your going to Say "economy", Its a Jaguar Then best cars ever made, were never Diesels, I think if your questioning Economy and Mpg's, Your driving the wrong car. Cheers Joe Your better with a V8 or V12
  19. Hi Only just noticed it was x-type, altered the above manuals did you get it sorted cheers Joe
  20. Hi you can usually tell by just removing the painted part of the mirror, it just clips off then the amount of wires will tell you whether it mirror has memory, folding or electrochromatic you don't see the electrochromatic ones as often, as they fail with age, they start to go a darker gold color as they fail, but they do pop up every now and then I find it easier to remove the glass, by removing the painted cover first, slide forwards, then push a small screw driver through, to unclip the glass, as you push it out you can also grab it with your finger aswell the mirrors are the same glass on a few jaguars, so don't just search for s-type cheers Joe
  21. Hi My only worry would be the sills, would require a better look, remove both sill covers to be sure the springs could be cleaned up with a wire brush and either painted or some black waxoyl applied the exhaust system as long as its not blowing, just replace it in the future or when it start to blow discs are a straight forward job if you do then your self and are not that expensive to replace discs and pads Sills would be my main worry, if its just surface rust, then clean them up, treat them and give them a good coat of wayoyl, even some cavity wax sprayed inside them cheers Joe
  22. Hi replacing the lambda will clear one of the faults its worth trying, the lamda fault might be due to the missfire, causing a lean situation cheers Joe
  23. Hi Every thing goes through the front control module, if there a low resistance on the bulb or a fault sensed it may not light up Try swapping the bulb, also check the headlight connector, terminals sometime melt and short, causing a fault here a Electrical manual X-Type Electrical Guide 2004.pdf and workshop manual Jaguar Workshop Manual X-Type 2001-2009.pdf manuals are off tinternet cheers Joe
