  2. Hi If its a faulty EGR, No amount of cleaning it, will cure it Cost of a carbon clean would of covered a pair of EGR's, If It is egr's cheers Joe
  3. Hi Clinton have a look here http://www.jagstyperegister.com/wherenumbers.htm cheers Joe
  4. Hi Yes works really well, if you look on youtube there's loads of clips dont think its going be cheap though, would like one in my tool box cheers Joe
  5. Hi and Welcome Gordon It could be a few things really, from a low battery, dodgy epb motor, sticky brake caliper, or tight handbrake cables disconnecting the battery usually clears it, but make sure you have the stereo code first there a way of testing the epb, directly by dabbing 12v on the epb motor wire in the boot have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xebdRYwtjE with the clip above you will be able to drive the parking brake on and off basically the epb, memorizes a reached position for parking brake on and parking brake off, if it cant reach that position it will cause a fault cheers Joe
  6. Hi Still sounds like EGR valves to me, they might be clean but they could still be faulty the ecu monitors both egr's, so the electronic's inside them could be faulty could also be faulty actuators on the turbo's, they are electronically controlled, but you usually get fault codes for both of these you could do with a obd logger to monitor the ecu and record any fault codes, some faults will automatically clear as soon as the fault clears also may be a air leak, a split hose or perished hose with cause faults under load and clear when driven normal/light pedal a descent app and obd tool can monitor most engine parameters and can help find faults like air leaks by monitoring fuel trims cheers Joe
  7. Hi If you go to jaguar topix site, login in as a quest, enter your vin, it will list any recall info on your car cheers Joe
  8. Hi most places do them, Ebay most probably cheapest or just google number plate designer online and there will be loads to choose from though I think the standard ones look better, more modern and does not remind you of the rover 75 every time you see it cheers Joe
  9. Hi I'd go with standard bushes, they generally last years and give the smoother drive polyurethane bushes are good for fast road and track, but the main thing that put me off is, when they dry up, which does'nt take long, they can squeak really bad cheers Joe
  10. Hi You have to plug in when the restricted performance is on the dash, dont switch the ignition off or it will clear could one of a few things but fault code should point you to it cheers Joe
  11. Hi John Looks great !!! As for the OBD , all the generic cheap ones will work fine for engine fault codes and descent ones can be had for less than £30 If you want a more serious tool, then the mongoose lead and software, can be had for about £80 to £100, but this will read every module on the car, will do everything Jaguar can, as its the same software, only draw back you will need a laptop with windows xp on it, you can use windows 7 and 8, but you have to use something like VMWare, but its not as stable cheers Joe
  12. Hi Might be worth checking around the gearbox, just in case it has a slight leak cheers Joe
  13. Hi Just make sure you read all the information first I got a 3 year warranty with my Jaguar S-type R when I bought it, which I thought was great but with some there's certain things that need to be met, like on mine it needs to be serviced every year, which is good, but I do all my own work on the car, so that does not count also usually things have to break, if it down to wear and tear, they wont fix it, also you have to do thingx to a set procedure with some companies, like if some thing breaks, you have to call a recovery vehicle out, then recovered to a garage, before they will pay out Personally I dont think there worth it, but there must be good waranty's out there, maybe some one will have good experience and recommend one cheers Joe
  14. Hi Russ Mine works superb, I used one of the lower FM frequencies I use mine just for music from my phone, as you can unselect handsfree, I use the the built in Jaguar bluetooth for handfree calling cheers Joe
  15. Hi Luis Looks very nice Looks like your not too far from me, I'm also in Staffordshire, Longton area cheers Joe
  16. Hi If your car has the battery backed up sounder, they play up regular, as the get older, the battery inside fails and causes random faults I'd swap the sounder or if your handy, remove it, split it and change the 3.7v lithium battery inside it only real way to know is plug in jaguar IDS/SDD as for obd readers, most will only read, generic engine fault codes, I'd buy a mongoose lead, with jaguar IDS/SDD, they available for about £80, you'll need a lap top will window xp on it,I used one my old laptops, second hand ones are available for less that £50 for a good one mongoose and jaguar IDS/SDD lets you do every thing jaguar can, as a diagnostic tool for jaguar's its a must have tool really, when you plug in it talks to every module in the car, displays any faults and tells you what the cause is and how to remedy it and you can clear any faults, plus add and remove any module on the car, plus some engine's have data loggers built in, that record all engine sensors and gearbox sensor, make fault find very easy also in the options when you plug in, you can alter the sensitivity of the alarm activation I have a cheap generic one, that pairs with my phone, that I take away if i go any distance in my other cars just for engine faults code and reseting them, just in case but if your jaguar has a touch screen, you can bring faults codes up on that and also you can put the dash in diagnostic mode and also bring engine fault codes up on that as well a lot will be guess work on the alarm, but if you plug in with Jaguar IDS/SDD it will tell you the fault cheers Joe
  17. Hi If you look on ebay for X-type stereo adapter you can remove the bottom two units and fit either a double din or single din stereo I'd go for double din, 7" touch screen, that plays dvd's, you can look there's a massive selection, with reverse cameras, sat nav, full hands free, phone mirroring you have really got a great choice of sereo's cheers Joe
  18. Hi Does it have the touch screen, or is it the standard type post a pic up cheers Joe
  19. Hi Have a good look round them Have you tried jacking each wheel up and spinning them I've seen it where people have caught the disc shroud and that's catching the disc, making a click noise when you turn corners also check for clearance between wheel and caliper, also any balancing weights, also front lower ball joints have a heat shield on them , that can catch the disc, also check rear hand brake cable are not catching the wheels, also check clearance between wheel and shocker, can be close sometimes if wheels have wrong off set cheers Joe
  20. Hi My S-type R had a space saver and replaced it with a full size alloy if you have the space, then you should be able to fit, on my car it was a option you could remove your front wheel and see if it fits in the boot if your cars like mine with it been a R, the wheels are staggered, rears are much wider than front, I bought a front wheel for the spare, as that will fit front and rear rear will only fit rear, as its too wide for the front, if your wheels are not staggered, then any will do, cheers Joe
  21. Hi There's also 3 XJ220's at the Jaguar heritage museum cheers Joe
  22. Hi Have you a spare remote, does the spare work ok if spare works, then it the remote, if spare the same, could be the door lock or module cheers Joe
  23. Hi Saw two really nice ones at RAF Cosford the other week, at a Jaguar meet cheers Joe heres a few pics
  24. hi I can recommend the geartist GB01 there about £20, but the sound quality is very good cheers Joe
  25. Hi Not sure now, as I bought my set over 18 months ago now just had a quick look and mine was something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IVORY-Leather-Colour-Coat-Dye-for-JAGUAR-Repair-Restore-Colourant-Kit-/361588846006?hash=item54305fedb6:m:mPU0nIMBt2rR0IL52spOq8w cheers Joe
