  1. Mine has a separate voice module Graham It sits in the passenger seat No buttons fitted as standard but it can be disabled using gaffa tape
  2. Try Terry at JAG LAND (01328 823777 There over in you part of the country in Fakenham. They have massive stocks of every conceivable genuine near new & new parts at none dealer prices. Without a lot of messing around and expense for something your only need once in a blue moon, Your best bet is the space saver + tray & tools.
  3. K Mugglestone & Co Antons Gowt Boston PE22 7BG A experienced jaguar 'old school' family run business. None of a main dealers fancy trappings, But twice the customer dedication and satisfaction at a reasonable price.
  4. I have just purchased 4 new Bridgestone Blizzak winter tyres, There doesn't seem to be many stocking this make in the UK (Maybe the reason I got them cheap lol) Has anyone else had any experience using this brand on a rear wheel drive.
  5. On that year I would opt for the 3.0S Diesel version as there won't be a lot of difference in the selling price. Be weary of ultra low mileage models as there more and likely just been used to potter around town and you might be in for expensive problems? Coming up to to 8-9 years old or any over 100,000 miles ? The cam belt needs changing if it's not been done factor this in to the buying price. The factory fitted options that were available is quite long so your have to do your own research? On the best spec for money you can buy? My own personal opinion is: Not to buy one with a fitted sunroof as they flex and squeak + lower the already low headroom in the rear. My number 1 option would be for a model fitted with factory bi-Xenon headlamps! Otherwise stock up on carrots if intend doing a lot of night time driving.
  6. Could possibly lead to problems if there strict whoever MOT's it.As far as i'm aware there's meant to be equipped with washes & a manual means of lowing the dip beam from the inside cabin.
  7. Check the exhaust maybe some polythene has stuck to it
  8. Hi Now hopefully your found the problem. I would consider having a Delphi agent refurbish them. The codes them self's are stamped as 16 digits on the injectors if your removed these from a unkown high mileage engine the there's a good chance the codes won't now be correct? And your end up having poor performance and high mpg after coding. The code read from the PCM will be firing order 1,3,4,2. Full details how to use the ELM 327 can be found at http://www.totalcardiagnostics.com/elm327/ I would also suggest renew the fuel filter & sump oil.
  9. Working on the tyre theory XKR-S owners would need a MOT every 6 months or 8000 miles whatever comes 1st
  10. Ah yes but they drive a Jaguar should with it removed + an extra 5 mpg lol...This is the problem running an older model, The cars worth next to nothing but manufacture original replacement parts are priced still as if it was a new model, ie Walk in a Jaguar dealers and order a new DPF filter and your leave with a bit of metal piping and your pockets £1,300+ lighter! And that's before if there given the job to fit it as no doubt your be ripped off for new sensors, Heat shields, Nuts, Gaskets & clips, Where's you can buy a new after market DPF filter for the XF 2.7D for under £240 and take it to your local exhaust centre and have it fitted for £50-60.
  11. I take it being a 2008 model XF it's the 2.7 diesel. Is it using any oil? or when changing is there more than 6lts of oil when drained. Like others have said, If the soot has turn to ash no amount of passive or active DPF regeneration even whilst motorway driving will cure the blockage problem as ash doesn't burn. Using additives mixed with diesel helps? Some modern cars have a dedicated tank filled with an additive which costs around £120 to recharge. Also having the EUC properly (not genetic) remapped to the individual vehicle should set the air & fuel flow to improve combustion to the best possible. Options? You could try having the DPF filters ultrasonic cleaned. Buy new cheap after market DPF filters as they have the minimum materials inside to block. Or the illegal route for road use .. Have the guts neatly taken out of the DPF filter and refit them empty and have the DPF deleted from the ECU. (if DPF filters are in place & visually look ok it will pass the MOT)
  12. If the files steel? It might be worth getting a thin N52 Neodymium magnet and clamping the magnet tight in to a pair of long nose mole grips.Hole the barrel dust cover open with something none metal and go fishing.
  13. More likely the damp problem is just due to the interior never getting warm and lacking air circulation while your in the car. ie Your breath or damp clothes, shoes ect? Example: Raining or cold outside, I park up with the windows closed while the wife goes shopping and within 30mins the windows inside start to mist up. As soon as the cars restarted with heater blower & screen heaters on the mist dries and is gone. I think whats happening to yours is cold damp air from your heater is removing the misting but not drying it out so over night it condenses again and the cycle restarts. You can buy moisture damp absorber bags (I use some in my classic car) Which may help until you sort out the heater problem.
  14. It's for LHD models so you might have reverse any interior photo shown locations. ie Driver to passenger side of the cabin
  15. There's full details covering both your issues HTTP://jaguarclimatecontrol.com/diagnose
  16. I know the pre facelift had a triangle warning displayed in S mode. I have not seen this on the facelift model if its a warning that a fault requires attention it should also be repeated at the top of the centre screen on home menu which if touched should give a reason? The only other normal amber triangle would if forward alert was being used (shown on my speedo)
  17. Just had a l@@k on ebay there's a company called ''Race..parts '' They have a new XF intercooler priced at £100.47 free P&P
  18. Since 2009 towbar and electrics have been included in the MOT test, Unless the vehicle manufacture has included dedicated chassis fixing points whether the towbar frame is fitted with a tow ball or not at the time of testing there's a very good chance it will fail the MOT. I would have thought wiring the electrics would turn out a complete nightmare as it's also is part of the test as it would have to auto turn off the cars rear fog & reversing lamps plus show the correct dashboard lights while connected to a trailer.
  19. Allowed in The Lounge...Off topic chat talk anything NOT related to Jaguar..Squeaks and rattles I can put up with! Just turn the radio up!! Nagging women.. and her that lives in the satnav giving instructions overrides the radio when a man knows better and decides to go there own scenic quick route
  20. I thought I would share my experience of using wheel spacers 20mm front and rear. There 5 x 108 x 20mm hubcentric FORD spacers ( Same as Jaguars but don't carry the premium price of anything Jaguar related) So far after 9000 miles no adverse effects except for extra dirt splashing up the sides. (Excuse the dirt in the photo as it hasn't had its monthly detailing through the local car wash) The camber on the front was left as supplied by Jaguar slightly positive, Expect after fitting the spaces it's neutral as both front and rear tires have worn evenly across the tread with the usual center wear to the rears.(Before the outside of the fronts were wearing quicker) I haven't experienced any change in the steering feel or tramlining, Just slightly more patter over uneven surfaces.
  21. Jaguar drivers are a courteous lot showing regard and though for other road users so the number plate need to reflect this. My wife drives a BMW and her number plate reflects BMW drivers regards to other road users
  22. I'm tight! Was not paying out for new boxes on a diesel for just looks and no power gain. Changed mine for £60 ..2 left & right hand stainless trims..Cut off OME Jaguars trims alined replacements and welded replacements on..About an hour or so work.
  23. Carcommunication.co.uk do a XK DAB adapter conversion kit..Just fitted one to the wifes BMW
