  3. Hello, I’m Guillaume from France. I’m the happy owner of a Jaguar XJS V12 (1988) from 3 years. After several trips behind the wheel of my feline (France, Spain…), I plan to travel around Scotland on October for approximately 15 days. So I have some questions abouts technical aspects and advice to enjoy this trip. I thank you in advance for your responses. Please excuse my approximate english…😅
  4. Hi Wynne I would be surprised if those were the correct size. Mine is 2013 on 19" wheels and takes 245/40s. That profile means you get less cushioning from the tyres in addition to incorrect speed reading etc. My choice is to go for an all season tyre. Absolute performance is slightly less than a summer tyre but as soon as the temperature gets below 8 C they are far better. Add a bit of snow or ice and they are in a different league. Michelin Cross Climates are traditional class leaders but I like the new Bridgestone Turanza 6 All Season as a good compromise. Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 are also well rated. Don't forget to buy online as you always get a better price. John
  5. Hi Martin, I have contacted Neil Campbell at the JDHT, just along the road from you and he would very much like to come and collect the cutaway Jaguar. Can you contact Neil on the following email address, thanks. ncampbell@jaguarheritage.com
  6. I've spoken with Dave at DCR, sounds a nice guy. Looks like he could have a solution for me in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your help! Pete
  7. Hi Wynne, go to the Kwik Fit website and type in your registration number to see a range of tyres that will be suitable for your car. You don't need to buy from Kwik Fit, but they will show you the best options to suit. Any worries, come back here and there's lots of assistance. N6 JMX
  8. Look forward to a positive outcome. Let us know. N6 JMX
  9. Hi Pete, yes Euro Jag are good for second-hand parts and trustworthy. If all else fails, type "jaguar xk8 X100 waist window door seals" into your search engine and there are several options for rubber seal extrusions, some as little as £50 per side. N6 JMX
  10. Hi Jim, thanks for the help and advice. I did find Dave's website AFTER I'd found an outfit on eBay offering a repair service. As usual I leapt before I looked...... I sent the switch to them by Special Delivery on Monday morning and it's already on it's way back to me and due to arrive today. Obvioiusly I don't yet know how this is going to pan out but the eBay feedback is 100% positive so I'm trying to be equally positive about it but not yet 100% sure......! I can't get the Switch fitted until the beginning of June when the car is in for MoT and service so I'll just have to fret for a little longer. Once it is fitted and I've given it a good test I'll Post the results and details of the outfit on here in case anyone else wants to give it a try. Fingers and webbed toes crossed. Thanks again. Cheers, Nige.

  12. I have 225/40 R19 P Zeros on my dealer sourced used 2019 3.0D XFS that need replacing. Nowhere do I see 225/40 recommended. I am no 'speed merchant; but I love to drive my car. P Zeros a little too uncomfortable for my liking. Any tyre recommendations - make, model, size.
  13. I have 225/40 R19 tyres on my dealer sourced used 2019 3.0D XFS that need replacing. Nowhere do I see 225/40 recommended. I am no 'speed merchant'; I just love driving.
  14. Thanks very much for the reply N6! My initial searches were leading me to this conclusion 😒. I will contact DCR. There's also a company called Euro Jag 01325 722777 who are calling me back with a possible second hand option. Really appreciate you taking the time.
  15. hi all i'm new to this and my name is paul and i have a 2018 jaguar xf with no voice, tried everything to grt it to say something but alas nothing, will no even give me map directions, be great if someone could give me a bit of help please, thanks
  16. Have you approached Jaguar Classic or the JDHT to see if they would like it? Seems too good to scrap. N6 JMX
  17. Hi Nige, try speaking to Dave Roche at DCR AutoParts, link below with website and contact details. Dave can be a great source of inspiration to solutions. https://www.dcrautoparts.com/ N6 JMX
  18. Hi Pete, these strips are no longer available from Jaguar or their suppliers, but several options have come to light using either reclaimed parts, or a rubber moulding procured from eBay. The problem is that they have an internal metal strip, which corrodes, swells and then lift the seal away from the door top. A company up near Inverness, DCR AutoParts, will usually be able to source good second-hand replacements, ask for Dave Roche. This is a link: https://www.dcrautoparts.com/ to his website. Email and contact numbers are on the home page. If not successful with Dave, come back and I will locate the rubber trim moulding option. N6 JMX
  19. I have just bought an F pace "Head light assist on F pace is this a standard option on a portfolio spec "
  20. I shall keep this on for another week and if nobody in interested I will scrap it
  21. Has anyone correctly fitted 15" beauty rings to a Xjs Facelift with diamond lattice wheels?
  22. Hi Paul, I'm sure stranger things happen, but it doesn't say much for quality control. Glad you got it sorted though! Jon
