Hi all,

Following a certain amount of positive reaction to my previous thread, Peter and I have decided to put plans in motion :)

We are planning a West Midlands meet at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon.

Here is what you can expect:- http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/

The date for our meeting will be SATURDAY 19th September 2015.

As I understand it, the HMC will provide us with dedicated parking, etc. if we can get enough cars to attend.

Although I've entitled it as a West Midlands meet, I hope it goes without saying that all are welcome :D

If we can get sufficient numbers we will hope to get sponsorship as well.

Please make a post below if you want to go and I will keep a running list here.

Perhaps you would be good enough to annotate your post to say which vehicle you will be bringing please?

Well I am up for that - dates I am committed elsewhere are 9, 10, 16 & 17 July and 20 - 27 August, flexible otherwise. Not sure which factory is best? Presumably their technology centre is out of the question as well?

gaydon is for more of a family thing with picnic areas cafe with a fair bit to do though the day so im up for gaydon myself.

the factory tours was an option that one of the members chucked in as a maybe  but this has too be a week day tour and at £35 per-person if more than nine is booked and if that date is available plus has to be paid up front to confirm booking

Thanks Ron :)

It is next to impossible for me to get a day off during the week at the moment as I have some of my staff on long term sick. So much so, that I'm having to lecture and run tutorials myself

Happy to be a focal point for the admin though.

I live within easy walking distance of the new JLR plant in Wolverhampton. I that one of the factories you were considering by any chance?

So is this instead of Gaydon?

No Paul.

A visit to Jaguar was always a no no on the same day as the Gaydon meet.  When I was working I had a friend who had worked at Jaguar and was then a tour guide in retirement.  They never were at the weekend as the factory is always closed for maintenance.

Just had a message back from Gaydon and they tell me that a group of 12 or more will qualify for group entry rate of £8.00

Furthermore, they will provide parking and signage.

Anybody want to add to the numbers?
