i need something that will charge the xj 2.2d stop start AND the starter and winch batterys on my 98 LR defender.

i have heard good reports if ctek kit, anyone had any experience if these units?

in the ctek specs I have found only one that mentions ‘stop /start’

hi

used a ctek for years on mine

most people go for mxs5.0

you can also buy convenience plugs that connect to the battery easily, no need to expose battery, just open boot and plug in

can be left on long term aswell, Jaguar oe optional chargers were made by ctek

cheers

I bought a Ctek mxs7 with a Comfort Indicator Panel i fitted it onto the driver's side off the boot and is permanently connected to the Battery and the charger cable is just plugged into the panel.

I find the Ctek very good and the one i have has different modes, and for the AGM battery I just switch to that mode.

Thanks Trooper2142. Looking at the specs the mxs7 is a serious bit ok kit.

I also have the MSX7 and the MSX10 and highly recommend you add one to your garage. It will keep your battery in tip top condition and those battery related niggles at bay.😎

What we haven't mentioned and this was brought to my attention by Jimbov8, is that the Red Cable is fitted to the Red /+ post on the Battery and the Black Cable is fitted to the Chassis or metal stud in the Wheel Well and Not onto the Black/-- post on the Battery as per Ctek Instructions.

Regards Tom.
