finally picked up my first jag yesterday

wow!

Now start to enjoy the Jaguar experience, Keith.

 

The s type is the best car I have ever driven.

Yes Trevor its in beautiful condition for its age with 54 k on the clock Jaguar fsh and two previous owners.

Hi Pete I have begun to enjoy the Jaguar experience today with a fantastic drive out in glorious sunshine. Truly stunning performance from such a big 4 door salon together with comfort and luxury. First car I have owned that not only turns heads but attracts good comments from friends family even total strangers!

One down side unfortunately the AC does not appear to be working :(

Will ring the dealer tomorrow for advise as it comes with six month warranty.

I have exactly the same experience, with people taking  sneaky walk round in the supermarket car park.  And there are plenty of Jaguars round here, too.

Our nearest John Lewis is 65 miles away , don;t know who Harvey nicks or Jaeger are, but are probably in Exeter. M&S just sell junk and rely on their overpriced supermarket food to keep going,

 

We do have a posh (expensive) dead animal shop on Exmoor though .

I waited till I was 52 before I bought an S Type (only a couple of weeks ago) its a 3.0 Sport and that little 'S' button by the gear stick frightens the beejeezus out of me!  Why oh why did I wait so long.

Like the S type, it looks like a proper Jag, reminds me of the mark 2.Morse would have one today if he was still alive .

 

That is one of the reasons I got rid of the XJ Supersport, 'er indoors said it didn't look like a proper Jag, brilliant car though .

 

What double post? you are seeing things, I blame that "S" button !

You must learn to embrace the Sport button, it is your friend, and will only enhance the general Jaguarishness of your S-Type.

The acceleration between 30 and 70 with the S button [2.7 diesel] is tremendous.  I hesitate to think of how fast the car will go. BUT remember you must put more pressure into the tyres -- from 31 to 38 psi in my case.  I have never gone that fast, ---  over 70 is difficult as I have a speed limiter on the front passenger seat.

Yes, I can sympathise, I have one of them. Is the type that clenches the seat then gives you a verbal warning?

I'm not sure either, but what I do know is it seemed to still be accelerating reasonably briskly at 150 a few months ago in Germany. Hadn't raised the tyre pressures but it didn't seem fazed in any way.

I used to have a Range Rover and the wife and me went looking for a cheaper car to run, anyway we came across this lovely 2002 grey 3.0 S Type Jag, it was a bargain, infact it was a sold as seen with 123000 miles under its belt, you may think with those miles and that many owners it would be noting special, wrong, there is not a blemish on the paint work and inside its like new, but i did have to change 3 wheel bearings, fantastic car, and i don't have to fix anything every weekend like i did with the Range Rover

The S Type is a great car, both in style and to drive.  I have had mine for over a year, and other than an oil change I have spent nothing on it.  A sticky handbrake was cured by disconnecting the battery, and an EGR problem was cured by giving the car a good burst of speed on the A38.

 

The 2.7 diesel has given me a good fuel consumption figure - the best being 53 mpg on a 100 mile trip, -  usually about 46 mpg.

Happy Christmas everyone. Safe travels where ever you are. We drove 12hrs non stop to my wife's parents in France at 95mph and the jag didn't put a wheel out of place.

i have a 2003 2.5 se sport and i have had it for nearly 5 years i still love it despite having to have a new gearbox in may last year after only 69k miles,not cheap but worth it , this is my third jag i've had a xj 3.2 sport (x300),loved it then an x type 2.0 d,apart from the xj  the s type is the best car i have had,
