  1. ...Somewhat smaller though When I bought it I thought it would be the size of a Corgi car but it isn't - it's a LOT bigger, and now sitting on the mantlepiece.

  2. Just done the upgrade on the wife's car. Took about three an a half hours. Not an easy job. Any garage used to mk3 Mondeos will be able to do it in half the time. If I where you I would supply the parts. At least then you know you have the right parts fitted. BTW It was only the bottom pulley that needed changing on San's car but I changed all the parts as I'd bought them. If I had changed just the pulley it would have taken about an hour and a half.

  3. Mine is a Maisto 1/8 scale Tamas. Readily available on eBay. Not sure if they did a BRG version but could be a project to strip down and respray Here for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAISTO-1-18-31865-JAGUAR-S-TYPE-1999-METALLIC-GOLD-DIECAST-MODEL-CAR-/291436461092?hash=item43daf77c24

  4. If you can get it up on ramps check the unions going into the steering pump then the rack, also have a look at the pipes. It may just need nipping up a bit, you never know.

  5. Welcome to the club, Tamas. Getting under cars for me is now a no no, but Andy is pointing you in the right direction. The s type is a great car to drive, and a real classic design. When the s type 4.0 litre was built it became the fastest production road car Jaguar had ever built. Regards, Peter. P.S. There is a Jaguar Owners Club meet at the Heritage car museum in Gaydon on September the 19th. Not that far away from Nottinghamshire.

  8. In 1946 when the Second World War had just ended, I was 10 years old and, having seen an SS Jaguar for the first time, I announced that "I would have a Jag when I was old enough to drive"! It took longer than intended but I eventually achieved my ambition in 2002 when I was 65 when I bought an ex-demo 3.0 Litre S Type with 4000 miles on the clock. From the outset this has been a "head turning" car maybe because of its unusual colour (Roman Bronze) and partly because of its 18 inch wheels. Whatever the reason, I have had, and still get, regular compliments from complete strangers. The car has no less than 61,000 miles on the clock as it enters its 12th year in my ownership and I have to say "It was worth the wait"
