  1. Is that the ad blue message? If so, just keep topping it up, it does go away, apparently some ad blue qualities are different and Jags dont like some varieties.
  2. Its the secondary battery that runs the stop start I think. Takes a while I also think to charge the thing.
  3. My old XE stored information on a hard drive. Had to update via a USB stick through the console, maybe similar.
  4. There are some of those solar panel trickles that do have auto cut off, bit more pricy but worth it potentially.
  5. I had to get a vauxhall astra estate taking one for the family a few years back, to be fair it was actually a ok car, could not fault it, did the a job, but at the same time could not say anything great about it 😁
  6. Audi don't have much character, they are nice cars but too clinical, the s and rs versions just boring to drive 😴 If you have a diesel I believe with motorway mileage they go forever 😀
  7. I did laugh sorry at the blame part😞 the rice trick is a good suggestion, may take a few days, will probably depend on the detergent and if any is left behind on the circuit
  8. I think that is correct Pault, also petrol burns at a higher temperature so certain components can deteriorate faster. Hopefully not too much damage. Never understood why you can put petrol in a diesel but hoses designed to stop diesel in petrol which I think causes less issues.
  9. They are really good cars, pain when they go wrong occasionally, but hey most of us on here seem to have the mark 1, they dont go as wrong as some others of same age.
  10. In which case, turn your music up or get a growling aftermarket exhaust to distract you 🤔
  11. Could be tyres, did you change brand, although weird if it stops after set speed!
  12. Using standard petrol is ok, do use premium fuel though as a rule. You can get some stuff call redex (think that is the name) you add it in when you fuel your car if using standard fuel, does the same job as premium fuel.
  13. What system do you have in the car?
  14. Well i got that very wrong 🤣
  15. Not sure but my xe could only handle 3g and was pretty rubbish. Was a 16 plate, maybe better in 2018?
  16. My old xe had the same problem. I just kept topping up until full every few weeks. It did go away, but after a few months it came back. I think its a unofficial know fault at Jag!
  17. Others can jump in here, but 272bhp is a v6 3litre engine, the other two from this year are 2.2 liters from memory. If you put your reg into the dvla site it should tell you the displacement.
  18. Hopefully they did not damage you door too! Notice the gear knob gets hot after a more spirited drive, but never the gear lever?
  19. Tomato

    My new XF

I find if you buy them, they don't get used and you have the added hassle of storing as they do take a chunk of space. Don't think these cars handle too badly with the pzero in the snow, had to drive to the hospital about 6 miles away, was good fun and in control most of the way, thats with a v8 version! 😄
  20. Service light has not been reset properly if it been serviced 2500 miles or it does trigger every 12 months if set that way as I discovered recently 😀
  21. I used the valet mode to wind up my son his phone was locked in there for good as it was broken 😄
  22. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08L7ZC21T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_dl_CD6H34G6TMZD33J2ABX2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 One I bought, been great. My aux socket in glove compartment on the slk, but works really well.
  23. I have a bluetooth plug in device in my old SLK, that allows me to use the phone and play amazon music via the original system through my phone. Was about 15 pound of amazon, lot cheaper that replacing unit. From memory different options to plug it in.
