  1. For your car you can direct to the battery as you don’t have the BMS fitted.
  2. This company have been recommended many times on another forum. https://www.classicadditions.com
  3. You need to count the flashes from start to finish, this gives you a flash code that can be translated into a specific area of the system. example, 2 flashes, short pause, 2 flashes long pause and then repeated a further 5 times gives you a code of 2-2 which relates to the drivers side bolster airbag.
  4. Try this it may help,
  5. The only person I can recommend is Chris Isle, The Jag Specialist at Doncaster. He is also a gearbox specialist. Worth at least a phone call.
  6. And this, https://www.landyzone.co.uk/attachments/d4-3-0-dtc-pdf-pdf.195213/
  7. This may help,
  8. Hi Tony, I don’t believe one was designated a reserve tank. You simply switched between the two as and when required as they were both the same size.
  9. No probs, hope you get the info you need.
  10. Hi Dean, the easiest way is to send an email to The JDHT with all the relevant info you have, they should be able to advise.
  11. People have bought 2020 discs from this place that have worked perfectly well in Jaguars of your era, Tis the reason I mentioned it. No probs either way.
  12. Have a look here for up to date discs, https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/jaguar-23-c.asp
  13. Just been through the 98MY electrical manual and there is no mention of that module. What exactly is it that you’re trying to do, or more importantly, what is the problem you have?
  14. The relay you need is R11 in the front power distribution fuse box. It is controlled by fuse F15 15A in the same box. The ground point is behind the left hand headlamp and is worth checking also. Figure 08.1 of this manual refers. http://www.jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepairPhotos/CarPDFFiles/SType/S-Type-Electrical-2005on.pdf
  15. 3 things with this one, 1. BMS needs resetting 2. Fusible wire from the positive terminal has blown 3 BMS module on the negative terminal has blown and needs replacement. I would go with #1.
  16. Surely you mean Tom.🤣
  17. Welcome to the forum Tom, nice looking car. Enjoy.😊
  18. Try pushing down and then turning anti clockwise.
  19. 100% agree with the above. Lack of use will kill your battery without the use of a maintainer. A half hour thrash is not going to help much unfortunately.
  20. Either the dccv is stuck or the system needs rebleeding.
  21. I’ve not heard of that engine suffering from bearing failure. I’d put money on the tensioners. They are DIY feasible depending on your ability with the spanners and not that expensive. Top two are the easiest to do. There are plenty of utube videos on how to do it also.
  22. Upper and lower tensioners would be my first thought. The originals were plastic and had a tendency to crack. A Jaguar independent should be able to help.
  23. There’s plenty of x type breakers Phil which a quick google will throw up. Cheapest I’ve seen on eBay is £33 for just the left one. Might be worth looking into 3D printing also.
  24. It is indeed indicative of a failed thermostat. If changing one then best to change both. The temperature gauge should be just on the halfway mark normally.
  25. Hi Edith, My, my, my, what a very gracious offer but there really is no need, a simple thanks is all I require to be safe in the knowledge that I may have helped in some small way. One by one then, first the clockspring. This is what you require, https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/550279232 Just search your own version of eBay and then you won’t need to worry about converting currency. And this is how to change it, https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/how-s-type-clock-spring-removal-faq-61287/ please heed the warning if you are at all unsure. Lug nuts, again if you search your version of eBay for the same lug nuts I linked to earlier you will find them. For the front ABS sensor, this is what you need, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-S-TYPE-FRONT-ABS-SENSOR-FIT-ALL-MODELS-02-08-EXCELLENT-COND-/183780939163?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338268676&toolid=10044&customid=EAIaIQobChMI5fyG-_rQ8wIVbUaRBR2s1wvOEAQYAyABEgLIGvD_BwE As for a code reader, the one I have is the icarsoft 930 and is ideal for your car. If you do get one make sure it is for Jaguar only and Diagnostic World is a good place to get one from. Hope this helps, Jim
