  1. Anything from £20 upwards on the eBay for the steering wheel buttons.
  2. Tyres, tyre pressures, tracking, balancing and, as above. You should also check the run out on the new discs.
  3. I would tend to agree.

    Parts

You don’t need to pay Jaguar prices for OEM parts, with a little research OEM parts can be had for a lot less.
  5. CTEK only recommend using 1 x 2.5m extension with their maintainers. That said, I have 2x 2.5m extensions to get from the garage to the car and have no problems with charging.
  6. You need a scan tool (ids/wds) to program the key and remote.
  7. They do seem to be on the rise Paul and long may it continue.👍
  8. Just find the right forum and ask away. https://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/forum/15-2003-onwards-xj/
  9. Here’s one, https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/xr857259-closing-latch.html and another, https://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/363991/5497/sunglasses_bin_closing_latch___jaguar___s_type_1999_2008_from_vin_m45255___xj_2003_2009_from_vin_h11537
  10. Changing the cluster is not a particularly difficult job to do, a few screws and a couple of connectors. I think though, the cluster needs to be programmed to the car. May be best to talk to a Jaguar Independent Specialist first before going ahead.
  11. May be time to get yourself a better code reader. Icarsoft will definitely tell you what’s wrong with your car.
  12. If you have memory seats then it should have folding mirrors. It was an optional extra.
  13. With the park brake engaged simply press the accelerator to move off, the park brake disengages automatically.
  14. 12.4v to start with is a little low, fully charged is 12.8v. With the engine running you should see 14.3v to start with and then reducing to 13.8v. If your car is diesel then the charging from the alternator may be a little different to that of the petrol version.
