  1. If you can’t get at it by removing the wheel and wheel arch liner then unfortunately the bumper will have to come off.
  2. And this is what lurks beneath the chrome cap after just 8 years. Get them changed for the solid versions.
  3. There is a guy in Leeds called Mark Burton who breaks Xtypes. You’ll find him on the Facebook thing. Very busy man but he may have what you’re looking for.
  4. Very nice indeed.😎 The mirrors should not rub on anything so there is something not quite right there.
  5. Very difficult to get hold of a paint code David. The best match I have used on mine is the Humbrol black gloss enamel used in model making. Use with a fine brush and when dry it’s very difficult to see the touch up.😎
  6. Here is a battery charge chart for those who need to know.
  7. I had the “R” specced Brembo callipers fitted to my XK8. They looked good with the Detroit 20inch wheels.😎
  8. Plenty available on the bay of E though they are used. New OEM panels are available from the likes of Rimmer Bros at £365. Your choice.
  9. I also have the MSX7 and the MSX10 and highly recommend you add one to your garage. It will keep your battery in tip top condition and those battery related niggles at bay.😎
  10. You most likely have a parasitic drain on the battery from a defect within the car. These can be troublesome to track down. A few things to check, there is a little flap on the ignition barrel, when the key is removed it should close. Check all auto functions are switched off. Make sure you double lock the car when left unattended, even when in a garage. In the meantime, a CTEK battery maintainer will help keep the battery fully charged.

  12. Try this place. https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/british-cars/jaguar/jaguar-xj12-and-daimler-double-six-series-i-iii-1972-1992/manifold-and-exhaust-system/exhaust-system-series-iii-without-catalytic-converter.html
  13. When parking on my drive, as it is flat, I leave the brake off. I used to leave it off for 10 weeks at a time when I went to sea with no problems whatsoever in operation afterwards.😊
  14. When you get the new one you’ll see how it attaches. If it is stuck on then warm it up first, then using a length of fishing wire, slowly seesaw along the back of the badge whilst maintaining a slightly upward pressure. Once off, clean the surface thoroughly before attaching the new badge.😊
