  1. Dunlops used to be my tyre of choice, never had a problem with them. I have since switched to Michelin and found them to be far superior compared to the Dunlops.😁
  2. Well Euan, serious investigation is required. At the front of the engine you could be looking at the thermostat tower and water pump or the hoses to the radiator, if you’re lucky. Thermostat tower and water pump are known to fail. The worst will be the valley pipes though they don’t normally leak from the front. Find yourself a reputable Jaguar Indy and get it pressure tested, this will be the cheapest way of identifying the fault.
  3. I’ve only managed to find the 4.2L and the Silverstone. I’m guessing from the part number that yours had “Supercharged” on it, in which case it may be the holy grail of badges. Here is the Silverstone version. https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1015894819
  4. You need to hook it up to code reader and find out exactly what is activating the alarm. Surprised your Indy didn’t advise that in the first place.
  5. Or perhaps it lights up when a CD is inserted.
  6. Latest info I have is that it may be a IR receiver for a remote control to do with the rear entertainment pack.
  7. You may also find one on the overhead console.😀
  8. If glows orange and only comes on with the headlights then it’s a courtesy light and is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.😁
  9. No bother Colin, glad to help.🙂
  10. A few available here though pricey. https://www.ebay.com/b/Car-Remote-Entry-System-Kits-for-2011-Jaguar-XJ/184651/bn_94425919 also here, https://www.remotesandkeys.com/product/smart-key-remote-2011-2014-jaguar-xj
  11. Is it this type? https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/203060744849?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=203060744849&targetid=938486033460&device=t&mktype=pla&googleloc=1007258&poi=&campaignid=10195652396&mkgroupid=107296306052&rlsatarget=pla-938486033460&abcId=1145987&merchantid=9855334&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrPu3mIyv6wIVFc13Ch3kPgSKEAQYASABEgL8fvD_BwE
  12. There is normally quite a few for sale on the bay of E.
  13. Do you have auto lights on the car? If not then it could be the light switch itself at fault. Cheap on eBay and a 10 minute job to change.
  14. If you generally switch it off then why not disable it altogether and forget about it. Just remove the plug from the module in the right hand side of the boot behind the trim.
  15. No problem in doing that Lou though you can just as easily attach both to the battery.
  16. If it’s the same as mine, have a look on the roof panel for a switch with a “P” on it. If you are just going forward then press that to activate the front sensors. If you select reverse first then both sets of sensors should become active, the switch “P” can then switch off the front sensors only if not required.
  17. The latest Jaguar official disc is 2012 though there are websites where you can get up to date discs.
  18. If you can David, get yourself a CTEK battery maintainer and keep the car hooked up when not in use. This will aid in keeping the battery at its best and negate the low battery warnings. As for the service, I would bring it forward which is exactly what I did this year.
  19. Certainly a good place to start Gary.😊
  20. Check the ground points around the engine bay making sure they are clean and tight.
  21. You could try popping in to your local dealer and ask them. I’ve not been able to find any mention of that code either so the dealer would be my next option.
  22. Here you go. http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepairPhotos/CarPDFFiles/SType/S-Type 2002.5-2008-FSM-Workshop.pdf wiring diagrams here, http://www.jagrepair.com/JaguarSTypeElectricalOBDIIcodes.htm
  23. A little info for you by the guy who designed it. http://www.jagdroid.org/
  24. Have a look here, https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/british-cars/jaguar/jaguar-xj6-series-i-iii-and-daimler-sovereign-series-i-iii-1968-1987.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-Nuy59-L6wIV6YBQBh3aTgh4EAAYASAAEgJJY_D_BwE and here, https://www.britishparts.co.uk/classic-jaguar-c4707/jaguar-xj-69-92-c98/brakes-c282
  25. Put “Jaguar XK8 brake calliper” into Google, it will bring up a host of options including rebuild kits.🙂
