Hey guys! just recently joined this site heard it was very useful! i have a huge problem right now, my friend was playing around with the navigation screen (i don't have the cd in the back so the navigation does not work) and he entered some hidden diagnostics screen by holding down the phone and menu buttons at the same time! i believe he accidentally clicked some update or restore of some sort, it said failed and the screen wasn't going away, i tried turning off my car and even taking the battery out but now my screen doesn't even work! please this is very urgent if you guys know what to do let me know thanks a lot!!

Hi Dave, and welcome to the club.

I have heard about the hidden menu, and once saw a Video on how to access it. I think it was on You tube.

I was not tempted to try getting into it, as, like Andy, I thought it was hidden for a reason.  My thinking has  always been that when you go into something/somewhere you should always know the way to get out before you go in.

A dealer is the way you will have to go.

Regards,

Peter.

Alternatively, you could (carefully) enter the diagnostic mode again and see if it will reset the display. That sometimes works. Failing that, if you know somebody with a Mongoose.

To be fair, there really isn't any useful need to be addressed or info to be gained by going into those screens. Score another one for the "fist of justice" to demonstrate your displeasure to your "friend".

HI

I would say its corrupted the software, boot software on your navigation

the secret menu is ok, as long as you dont hit any of the update software buttons

there is some information on other forums

there is a file you can download and burn to a disc you put it in the NAV DISC, not cd player and it will update/restore your nav software

if you get stuck let me know, i think i have the software

cheers

HI

I found it, its quite straight forward to do

use this if you sat nav was working fine and you messed up a update, usually blank screen.

IF YOUR SAT NAV IS WORKING LEAVE IT ALONE!!!

hey joe,

i actually never had the cd for the navigation and never used the navigation on this car! so would it be okay to still burn this one "LOADING.KWI" file on a disc and try to insert it in the back?

Hey joe! i was not able to get back into the hidden menu I'm still stuck with the same problem. I'm not too sure if this will be useful but i cannot control my heaters and stuff. the small screen under the head unit which shows the dual climate control keeps on switching from 51 to 50 (ext) and the heater is always on. Jimmy i do not have the navigation system fitted in the boot.

Hi

If your not able to get back in, then the only way i think is with SDD/IDS Jaguar software

dont know if theres any body local to you who has it, a Jaguar dealer will do it and it should only cost 1 hours labour

I'd of thought disconnecting the battery for 30mins would of cured this but you have allready tried it

cheers

joe

it should be in a hidden compartment on the left side about a foot or so inside, there is a trim coloured door, might be a multi changer in there too.

As i have an old disk i have just ordered the apparently Last and final update disk (2012)
