West Midlands Meet?

I was just wondering whether there would be any interest in a club meeting in the West Midlands?

What sort of venue would find favour?

As I said, at the moment... just wondering ;)

Hi Paul,

I think there ought to be a West Midlands Meet.

You do get a discount at the Motor Museum at Gaydon if you have 30 people attending, plus dedicated parking together.

I tried for a meet last year but unfortunately there were not enough members to make it viable.

If you want to go ahead and have a go there are now quite a few more members.

Other venues could also be considered.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Paul,

Six is not too bad for the first week ---  there will be some members who have not seen your post yet.

But the West midlands is halfway to everywhere and there will be some members from a bit away.

Thanks Jim.

To be fair, if there is so little enthusiasm, then I have better things to do with my life :) Not wishing to be controversial but I suspect that, going by your experience, overall inertia is going to be so high that it just isn't worth the effort.

It would be a shame but there you go. Maybe time will prove me wrong :)

Hi to you all in the Midlands. I haven't been very active lately (mostly down to losing the link to this website/forum; but did go down to Steve Sheldon's meet in Brighton last bank holiday. It was good with at least 50 cars attending! Sadly though I had a prang after, some idiot tried to turn left through me on a roundabout - a real damper but hope to have the car back next week.

More to the point I would be interested in a Midlands meet - I went to one at Gaydon, must have been 2013 and enjoyed it. Does anyone have any contacts at the Jaguar factories, who could blag a visit? Just a thought  ...

BTW Old Peter if you see this i still have your prize from that meet over near Derby - I no longer have direct cause to drive up to Sutton but a mate lives in Burton so could swing by if I  go visit.

Hi All,

Paul and I have been talking about a West Midlands Meet and we would like to canvas options for a venue.

The Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon near Coventry is one suggestion, and we would welcome any other suggested venues, and please feel free to post with ideas.

Members outside of the geographical Region are welcome, as the Midlands is well served by Motorways.

It would be great to have a successful meet in the home of the Jaguar Car and all those interested should let us know ASAP so that we can start a list and fix a date.

Regards,

Peter.

That's 9 members so far and another half a dozen would be great to set the ball rolling.

The good weather than we are expecting  will see many members giving their cars a good polish and start looking forward to a good day out with fellow members.

Regards,

Peter.
