  1. Though very good, the ceramic coatings are not a one time deal and forget about it, they still require maintenance. When looking at around £600 for a proper job I’d be looking at other alternatives. Wrinkly’s preferred method is a very good alternative for a car that is kept outside and used daily.
  2. Excellent news and thanks for the update.🤙
  3. Cheap fixes are always the best.🤙
  4. For your car the CTEK 7 would be ample to keep the battery healthy.

  7. Check to see if there is any water in the boot area first but it may be the boot wiring loom at fault. Easy fix if it is.
  8. Hi Carl, The first place will always be the battery, make sure it is fully charged. That said, XF’s do seem to have problems with door locks and once you start getting problems with them the only fix is to replace. The interior light is directly linked to the door lock mechanism and is further indication of door lock problems. A battery maintainer and a Jaguar related code reader should definitely be on your shopping list.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Get yourself a CTEK 7 or CTEK 10, simple plug and play and will keep your battery on the top line.
  10. Yeah, because they’ve never been know to be wrong , have they? The dash is definitely from the XJ8 so therefore follows it will be the 4.0L V8. Still puzzled as to the front bumper chrome.
  11. From those pictures it has a XJ6 front bumper, as it’s an XJR it would therefore be a 4.0L straight 6 engine. I would be interested to see a picture of the engine itself.

  18. Yes it is plug and play as long as you have the same number on the replacement module.
  19. The force required is equivalent to a third of that for a wheel nut. So to give you an idea, loosen a wheel nut and tighten it to 42Nm to give you an idea of how much force you need to exert on the spanner. Don't forget to retighten the wheel nut.
  20. If memory serves, 42Nm.
  21. You will need to replace the door lock mechanism on the affected door. The “door ajar switch” is sticking and causing your problems.
  22. Welcome to the forum. You should think about getting yourself a Jaguar specific code reader, it will help you immensely with problems like this.

  25. Welcome to the forum blueboy. It will largely depend on your budget. The XK8 96 -05 are very affordable the later ones being the ones to get, however, rust is now beginning to consume them. The first x150’s with a 4.2L are also affordable but be wary of any that have not had the A/C “duckbill” modification done. The later x150’s with a 5L are superb cars and will put a permanent smile on your face. Have a search around the market place, narrow it down and then ask some more questions. Good luck.
