  1. Just looked on Euro Parts: "2005 Jaguar S Type 2.5 : Pair Eicher Premium Discs for Front and Rear £80. Pair EBC Grooved and Drilled Front and Rear £417. EBC Red Stuff Pads Front and Rear £133. No Eicher Brake Pads quoted. So cheapest way of doing Front and Rear Disc and Pad change appears to be £213 for parts and Labour depends on who does it of course. Seems reasonable to me. 3. Have you read the codes via the OBD 11 plug to see if and/or what is listed? Regards, John

  5. How Do I Know if My Car Battery is Bad? The most common symptoms that come with a bad battery include: Battery light illuminated on the dashboard Engine cranks slowly when starting Vehicle requires frequent jump starts Clicking when you turn the engine Lights are dim Car won’t start What is a Multimeter? A multimeter measures the voltage in your car battery, letting you know how much power is currently stored in the battery. Using a Multimeter to Test a Car Battery Turn the headlights on for two minutes to get rid of any surface charge the battery may have. Set the multimeter to 15-20 volts. Turn the lights off. Connect the multimeter to the positive and negative battery terminals. If you don’t have a voltage of around 12.6 volts, you may have a bad battery. Now start the car, and look for a revised voltage over 10. If your voltage drops below 5 when the car is running, it is bad and should be replaced right away.
  6. Will, S Type is renown for battery discharge. If you are certain the battery is good then it will probably be as has been suggested in previous submission. The battery can be checked with a Multimeter and you can buy very cheap, plug into lighter socket, USB unit that also has a V reader that displays the battery charge. In the long run you would do well to invest in a CTEK battery charger/conditioner to keep your S Type up to the job on battery charge. I have mine on a CTEK MXS 7.0 at least once a month and they are very reliable and viable pieces of equipment. Good Luck, Best Wishes and Regards, John
  7. Appreciating that recommendations will usually state that Brake Fluid should be changed every two years. Has anyone used / seen / have knowledge of, validity etc of one of these pen type Brake Fluid Testers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125017843656?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1d1ba4e7c8:g:KBQAAOSw8pFhaYtI&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSxXDXcCydCuSj2Tq2S%2F3GnsEbN3IdNwhMU%2FJGCuYXmHtZ3vVbagbVK4lgAJHo5wEUaAC1l49LqQUEtTPQcB9L6uksDgWiUPlvI0e6HwPVyfXHZGkBYDScLEzIpq20f4Jd38E%2BFEXGeFrn7QaD4Fi4IdgFt1NNdam7VHiz9iEqtGSIMcNuDmMcn5jjBVtTkFRJLbhplJBr8BJdAyTdgU6oas3oWEKk43fM9OQo37is1qTMundddn44x1LWv2gQzdn8IZNh4%2FuCcZEtzl5WJEcNZ7SLbTW9BBnp3%2FslmJdFLCFLphCBa6EvlNSj0O%2FfhNNAdYgh4UuoCe707%2Bppl2BPwT%2F9AuqzIfqnj%2BXwhRSjIW6%2B4aqDu8F%2Bn2luNVzeeEJMRloiEc3cumDyqH4vkEyNpe9HIl6%2FsUfIBMichwC5f9IJe3GEEDvXnz39z%2F8VoTyAbwV03FL%2FXYkJK35WADmPedUPCeJ0aknJVNXqqm8S1Twifj4Ge99EFkICsXTfZEO3rhCq3jakAci3qFzAKUbAHRh8J9dj05Ef9ZZT3E3eR5YxjZ4hQHKOYVOi4s4naMjUVHh5e3f7m8Idm49DST%2BEqFuvzYbMBpvOQRAKYtwuMv6DYbQTn3SkhMzcjGhgkPOLky5igMnaW8%2Fy8YDew9%2BMd67UqK90XccANLmB7%2BVDCcPCd94e6i0P0qb%2FawKls8KO8HB5%2FADRnrZs0z2HA0786K%2B5zA%2FazDy96%2Fxk84LtipY6b7zOjBpQu%2FjNUmZcWxaGplZRSnNPNPooHbhx8Dt4XyNBXRafCpDbGCxuqrrnG%2Fpa%2FP4QRwWm19nf9dVwWT8cOfAbbtnDvY9s8DFu3jqHgw%3D%3D|clp%3A2334524|tkp%3ABFBMvtTN6eRf Best Wishes and Regards, John
  8. Joe, Many thanks again. I will look on Ebay for the universal wind back tool. Regards, John
  9. Joe, Many thanks once again. Is the piston wind back tool for the rears of any specific nature for the S Type. Perhaps a photo of yours would show what is necessary. The point about Red Stuff pads is well worth knowing as I do notice a fair bit of dust on the alloys. Many Thanks and Regards, John
  10. Would be very interested on views of what you consider the best manufacturer of replacement discs and pads (Front and Rear) for my S Type. Also if anyone has views for or against drilled discs, besides the OE fitment being vented. Many thanks and Regards, John
  11. A clutch slipping at anytime is not good news and if so doing it is wearing. I am surprised you have not already contacted the specialist fitters or been back with the car. The sooner you get in touch with them or back to them the better, before they start trying to blame it on you and a driving style. Best Wishes in getting it replaced, Regards, John
  12. Elliott, I know it is a nuisance getting the wrong specification delivered, but at least they have accepted their mistake and are arranging the correct replacement. Far better than you altering the wiring to the Lambda Sensors. Good luck when you eventually get to do the job. Best Wishes and Regards, John
