hi is it using water, usually water coolants issues and bubbling can be head gasket if its air locks, then you get a cold heater, does the radiator get hot at both sides Id get a sniff test done to check head gaskets or even a compression test cheers Joe

Hi Try this The procedure to program the remote fob or fobs is very simple and should take less than one minute. No tools are required. All remote fobs available must be present when the car is in programming mode, so that they can be programmed at the same time as the new fob. Any fobs that have previously been programmed to the car will need reprogramming at a later date if they are not available when carrying out the following procedure. 1. Enter the car and sit in the Drivers seat. 2. Place the key in the ignition. 3. Hold the headlight flasher arm back – the blue “high beam” light will come on the dashboard and the headlights will come on. 4. Keep holding the headlight flasher back and turn the ignition key to position 1. 5. Release the flasher, and then flash the headlights FOUR TIMES. You will hear a “Beep” AND/OR see a small red light illuminate briefly on the Gear Selector on the fourth flash of the headlight – this is to confirm that the car has entered programming mode. 6. Program each transmitter (up to FIVE fobs can be programmed) by pressing any button on the fob. You will hear a “Beep” AND/OR see the red light on the Gear Selector with each press of a button. 7. The car must “Beep” or red light flash five times to complete programming. Therefore, if you are only programming one transmitter you should operate the transmitter 5 times. If you are programming two transmitters you will operate one transmitter twice, and three times on the other. 8. Wait for the car to exit programming – this will be indicated by a final “Beep” AND/OR the red light on the Gear Selector. 9. The remotes are now ready to use.

hi theres some times calibration procedure with changing the actuators so the actuators know what position there in, if not, they can burn out, because they try to keep opening or closing, trying to reach a position thats not possible maybe worth checking cheers Joe

Swapping the mafs is easy, they just plug in

hi if the codes are pointing to the mafs and swapping them does not cure it the faults could possibly wiring to the mafs, maybe worth checking the continuity of the wiring between the ecu and both mafs to check the wiring ok hope there using jaguar software to read the fault codes as some generic code readers give wrong codes and end up giving you misleading faults codes cheers Joe

hi do you know what the obd fault code was the engine running with no maf is normal, it uses default parameters and runs with restricted performace what engine is it, is it diesel with 2 mafs cheers Joe

hi any of the bluetooth modules will work on yours, the higher the letter at the end, the newer the revision model and supports more phones better module is the later black plastic one that phone/bluetooth combines and this swaps with the phone module in the boot cheers Joe

hi if thats 11.9 with engine off, yes thats too low, that would drop to about 10v I bet once the engine cranking put it on charge overnight and see how it goes, if it drops again, will be new battery if your cars a diesel, that will causes you lots of faults once the pre heater kick in on start up did you check it on start up, should be over 14.5 volts cheers Joe

HI Could be one of many, many faults and any advice will be pure guess work and will cost you a fortune in replacements parts you dont need you need to get it plugged in and read the faults codes to send you in the right direction but a low battery will cause many issues on the s-type and a lot will cause restrictive performance put the battery on charge over night and see if it cures it, may only cure it short term if battery old cheers Joe

hi on diesels with dpf's, its depends how you drive it if you potter around every where and the revs never go over 1500 rpm your allways going to have problems give the car a young lad and I can guarantee you will never see a dpf warning ever its not speed thats required, its revs, if the dpf gets hot enough, the content burn off and exit as soot, keeping the revs up for regular intervals help the dpf heat up and keeping it clear when the warning light comes on means its failed to clean itself and theres enough back pressure to warn the driver that a manual regen is required to burn off the soot blocking the dpf if you like to put your foot down regular, then they should be fine, if your going to drive like Miss Daisy, avoid you will get issues with regens cheers Joe

hi try disconnecting the battery, for a few days, if its starts, then you know battery is ok and its something on the car check the obvious first , interior light, boot light and engine bay light if it has one I had a drain on my car when I first had it and it ended up been a tracker, the internal battery had failed and was draining the main battery cheers Joe
