  1. hi There a live battery terminal in the drivers front wheel arch, wheel arch liner needs to be removed you could use jump leads just to power it up, once the boot is opened remove the battery and charge it over night cheers Joe
  2. Hi According to the Jaguar site they still do fixed price servicing and its still £329 https://www.jaguar.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance/fixed-price-servicing.html So I would phone another dealer to see what they say I always do my own work, as I don't trust dealer's and Independent garages, unless you know one well and I like using genuine parts, as there usually better quality best way is see if you can find any recommended garages by friends or on forums cheers Joe
  3. Hi Paul I might have a go as well once the pics are back up all ready got a touch screen ready to operate on may be we should start a new topic when we start with plenty of pics cheers Joe
  4. Hi Cant see it would of caused any other issue, as the short would of just bought the reverse lights on I'd be tempted put your battery on charge over night, as the short might of drained the battery slightly, causing issues cheers Joe
  5. Hi If the EML light is on or flashing there should be a code Is there any other code reader you can try on it, it would save a lot of time cheers Joe
  6. HI Its worth mentioning, if your considering buying tyres, I all ways buy tyre's with the XL rating The XL Tyres, are extra load, the side walls are reinforced and work better on our S-type, Due to the extra weight There usually no dearer and support the car better The Continental sport contact 3, I use on my S-type R come in both normal and XL extra load, but I would only fit the XL cheers Joe
  7. Hi reverse lights is just controlled from a switch on the side of the gearbox, you could just unplug it to prove it and link the plug/connector to bring the reverse light on may be worth checking the fuse box not got water inside it, and might be worth following the wiring back from the gearbox reverse switch, just in case the wiring damaged and it was causing your faults have attached a wiring diagram and workshop manual, hope it helps cheers Joe X-Type Electrical Guide 2004.pdf Jaguar Workshop Manual X-Type 2001-2009.pdf
  8. Hi Reverse lights, is your car auto or manual have you tried putting the reverse lights fuse back in and see if the other things start to work also make sure your battery is fully charged cheers Joe
  9. Hi I'm sure all pre 2005 bumpers are interchangeable post 2005 bumper are different, as the grill is slightly different shape, but can also be fitted to pre 2005 cars, as long as its fitted with bumper, grill and bonnet post 2005 bonnets are aluminium and offer a goos weight saving the bumper fitted to your 200 sport is a pre 2005 s-type R bumper and were not fitted to 200 sport as standard cheers Joe
  10. Hi Pirelli's Tyres are good, but I think no matter what brand you get, there all ways going to squirm out of replacing Tyre's for free, unless its a really obvious fault like cloth or wire hanging out of tyre thread If your only using the car for general use all Tyre are much the same, even budget Tyre's are quite good these days the only thing you have to watch is, if you like putting you foot down every now and then and your car is rear wheel drive, like the S-type then a softer type compound Tyre is better for grip, the S-type R will teach you this quite quick. most Tyre are very good these days, I all ways say buy the best you can afford, never buy used or repaired Tyre's, definitely a no no, I use the Continental sport contact 3, which came with the car from new, there ok, great once warmed up, but would also recommend, Goodyears eagles There's usually some sort of compromise with Tyre's the harder they are, the longer they last, but the least they grip, The softer they are, The least they last, but the better they grip. cheers Joe
  11. Hi There's plenty of colors on Ebay Also I've used Turtle wax color magic, works well as its colored and if you have chips, it comes with a chip stick, the polish it self cover most chips, as in it matches the color, for deep ones use the stick the chip stick is a wax colored lip stick type thing, rub it over the chip and it colors it and fills the chip, makes it hardly noticeable turtle wax color magic come in most colors as well it works amazing on black, has to be the first stage in polishing, hides most swirls as well cheers Joe
  12. Hi Saw this on the E-pace, just amazing how much technology there is in the new E-pace https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zLHnVz403c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuVAeaJA0mM I bet its not cheap though cheers Joe

  17. Hi have a look on ebay, there not cheap though cheers Joe http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-XKR-XK8-XJ-20-BBS-ALLOY-WHEEL-REPLACEMENT-TRIM-/192151045124?epid=1243774488&hash=item2cbd184404:g:v6EAAOxyXp5SPWv4
  18. HI That for the bluetooth module to plug into its the earlier type, you still need a phone module in the boot as well and also a mike or you could fit a later module. the black plastic one, that plugs in the boot, where the phone module goes with blue tooth built in cheers Joe
  19. hi Its just a water valve, well 2 water valve's 1 inlet, 2 outlet, 1 passenger side, 1 drivers side. positioned next to the radiator, if you want heat, the valve opens, lets hot cooling water through, to either side, heater matrix, controlled by ecm. there prone to sticking open or shut, if the cooling water gets sludgy, common cause of heater allways blowing hot or cold there a couple of different types, changed from model to model cheers Joe
  20. HI Are you sure the radiator fans are kicking in, if the fan does not kick in, its going to over heat also on my s-type there's a Aux pump on the radiator that circulates water around the radiator, giving the water extra passes through the radiator, before going back to the engine, make sure this pump in also working its also worth checking the expansion cap, because if that leaks you wont get any pressure, no pressure means a lower boiling point and water could be lost that way also check expansion bottle for leaks, these are known to leak around the seam, be carefull with the little breather pipe on the expansion tank as well, these go really brittle and snap off easily cheers Joe
  21. Hi The above procedure might only pair the remote, but definately wont program the transponder chip in the keyfob and pairing the remote does not allways work anyway, specific to certain models A good locksmith can supply a new key and remote if required at a much cheaper price than Jaguar, the key can be cloned or programed into the car and they can pair the remote as well, most lock smith do this nowaday at competitive prices cheers Joe
  22. Hi If you look on the "VEHICLE SMART" app and type in the reg, the mileage on this reg goes up and down, and stays low on the last year also has quite a few mot failures in its history it worth having a look at it or look on dvla here https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history cheers Joe
  23. Hi and Welcome Paul hope you don't them nails dirty too soon cheers Joe
  24. Hi Could be one of many things really, but sounds like a loose connection All the answers you will get will be just guess work and could cost you a small fortune to chase them all Only way is to get it plugged in with Ideally jaguar software and that will point you to exactly where the fault is, rather than guess work If you plug in with a generic code fault reader, it might not show any faults, as most will only communicate with the engine ecu only could be something as simple as a loose plug or a faulty abs sensor, but I'd be guessing cheers Joe
  25. hi like the color, not seen it before, cheers Joe
