  3. Hi Andy No problem, if you can get the connectors and you want me join it up, no problem you could post them me and i would join them for you, its only a 10 min job cheers Joe
  4. Hi Andy I got the loom and just used the connectors off the dvd and the touch screen and left about 2 feet of wire on them and just joined them together my test harness uses the original connector off the loom, before I had that I used the wires pushed on method this allow you to power up the screen and dvd to display item on it if you can drop on the connectors from a breaker, its easy to put them together, there's only 8 wires to connect between dvd and touch screen , then power and earth cheers Joe
  5. Hi Its usually ok to disconnect the battery as long as ignition is off, usually no problems if there were a lot of errors, only thing I can think off, was battery was disconnected with the ignition on, causes every module to go into error/fault glad you got it sorted and hope it was not too expensive to sort cheers Joe
  6. Hi There all options, looks like the original buyer, did not want spend his money cheers Joe
  7. HI Stewart and Welcome Looks great, I like the color, not seen it before cheers Joe
  8. hi also before I had connectors if you use some stranded wire about 1.5mm, get a bradawl, pop a hole in the wire end, then the wire will push onto the pins quite snug cheers Joe
  9. Hi I got a loom from a s-type and cut the nav loom connectors out and made a mini loom use a spare display and nav to get it running on the bench also ben wilcox on another forum has a full parts list and instructions on how to convert one link here http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=89210 if your handy with electronics, you should be ok cheers Joe
  10. Hi Andy there's 3 plugs on the dvd, if your unsure which connector is which here some more info cheers Joe Nav Connectors.pdf
  11. Hi yes it can be powered up on the bench, I've been doing it to test a video in adapter but the display will be blank, you need to connect it to the nav dvd as well, or you wont get a picture to power it up on the bench you need to connect the wire below with arrows on them red arrows are 12volts feed black arrows are earths blue arrows are a coms link ( no picture without this ) yellows are video, these are what you break into with a adapter to add reverse camera or any video device with RGBs I have one working to try video interface cheers Joe
  12. HI what do you mean by the head unit do you mean the touch display, if so there is a way cheers Joe
  13. Hi also if the dampers are ok, the bushes at the bottom of the damper wears out, as they car all the weight of the rear of the car, replacement bushes can be bought and replaced maybe a cheaper option cheers joe
  14. Hi Alan this is what JTIS reads for your model looks like a low battery to me, check you have over 14 volts when the engine is running and I would put it on charge over night cheers Joe
  15. Hi if you cant get the boot open, then its under bonnet depending on which car you have, if you can get to the starter or alternator, they are connected direct to the battery but i would no start the car, just power it up and open the boot, then either change the battery or leave it on charge over night jump starting the car, will cause low voltages on the car and will throw loads of faults up if you can't get to the starter or alternator like me, there's no space in the engine bay on the s-type r the other place is drivers side wheel arch, pic below, but get that boot lock oiled up and next time just use the key cheers Joe
  16. Hi If your after a comfy ride, then most will do the job, Bilstein are the best though, B4 for comfort If you after a sportier ride the bilstein b6 are very good, but not cheap depending on what model of s-type you have Bilstein are standard fit, if your car has CATS, adaptive dampers, then OE Bilstein are the way to go, as you get comfort and stiffer damping, that adjusts to your driving style, but again no cheap cheers Joe
  17. Hi You will only get what people are prepared to pay have a look on ebay and autotrader and see what similar cars go for and adjust the price if your has better spec or condition or recent work on it cheers Joe
  18. Hi I,d put some extra grease inside them also I rub some grease on the rubber gaiters after, I see a lot of the rubber gaiters/boots perish in next to no time, the grease rubbed on them make em last longer cheers Joe
  19. Hi They look fun, Hope they come with plenty of Lube If you have a descent vice, they should go in the ones with the big lip at end will be fun, use plenty of lube and they should go on let us know if you can feel a difference once there on cheers Joe
  20. Hi They are usually sleeved, if there the oe rubber type If there poly bush, they sometimes come in halfs, pushed in from each side post some pics of what you have, I'd be interested in what they look like cheers Joe
  21. HI They should work only thing I can think of there a error in disconnecting the battery and its thrown a fault up plugging in with Jaguar SDD will show any faults and might just want resetting let us know how you go on cheers Joe
  22. Hi Just curious, do you have a spare remote, have you tried that cheers Joe
  23. Hi just had a quick look , cant find any info at a guess it lost its sync with the car, its with rolling codes on the remote your hand book says only a Jaguar dealer should replace the car battery and autodata says it can be done and there nothing special, apart from reseting all the auto stops on the windows have you tried pressing the lock or unlock with 5 seconds of switching the ignition on cheers Joe
  24. HI On the S-type's, pre 2005 have them on the bonnet and post 2005 have them on the wipers you could see if them washer jets could be fitted to your wipers I would not blank the old ones off, just leave them, it would look neater cheers Joe maybe something like this would do you
  25. Hi Yes they are small have you noticed now a lot of new cars, on the front, when they are indicating either the side or drl goes off and a fog light comes on, on the side that's turning now that is strange cheers Joe
