  1. Hi Can be one of many faults, From having the Abs sensor, wrong oil in it, not enough oil, too much oil can also cause problems you need to plug in and see what faults come up, its the only way on modern cars other wise its just guess work, cheers Joe
  2. Hi They might not be the exact same, but if yo swapped both front you should get away with it the truth will be once there swapped if the car sits the same, dampers should be the same, springs might be different cheers Joe
  3. Hi It could be the tyres I would try swapping the front tyre's with the back and see if the noise shifts they are a common cause of this type of noise cheers Joe

  6. Hi battery reset procedure battery reset cheers Joe
  7. Hi I'm sure the locking and unlocking is done by the drivers door module Its the drivers door module that receive the remote open and close from the remotes you might have a faulty driver door control module, they can be bought off ebay quite cheap, but will need programing before it will work on your car cheers Joe
  8. Hi depends what your after really They don't make much difference to car insurance these days and escpecially on a XJ The best out there is really a "Tracker" link to police and guaranteed to be found if stolen, they start at about £300 and then there's annual charge There's also cheaper ones on ebay, for the £50 to £100 range, That offer real time tracking, sound monitoring, safe zone's, recorded message calling and remote imobilising, these tend to use a prepaid sim, that you keep topped up, that will message you if the alarm is activated or moved you can also get jaguar ones, but mot sure what these cover and cost to run, all tracker usually have a annual subscription charge cheers Joe
  9. HI The only way to know for sure is to plug in and read the fault codes It could be one on many things If you can get the codes then we get more information where the fault lies most generic code readers will read engine fault codes cheers Joe
  10. Hi If I was picking, I'd go for the 5.0L The 5.0l has the newer gearbox and later spec engine I would say the 5.0l will be more sought after and hold better value I have the 4.2 supercharged unit in my S-type R, Which is a superb engine, but would love to upgrade to the 5L, Just for the extra power and torque cheers Joe
  11. Hi and Welcome Post some pics up of your car Cheers Joe
  12. Hi this is out of JTIS for a 2002 2.5 v6 x-type I'd say you have 2 faults, a faulty Ho2 sensor and a possible blocked injector on cylinder one Cheers Joe
  13. Hi You should be able just to unplug it not sure where it is on a x-type, but if its sounding should be easy to find cheers Joe
  14. Hi Its more than likely the sounder is faulty As they get old the battery inside it, battery backup, fails and will cause false alarms cheers Joe
  15. Hi and Welcome Post some pics up I have a Zircon blue S-type R and its a great color Cheers Joe
  16. HI You want a long box spanner or the next size down long reach socket use one of the other plugs and find a socket thats just smaller and then knock it onto the damaged plug, it should grip it enough to get it out or even a piece of steel pipe, you want it, just smaller than the plug, then knock it on, if its one of the back ones, you will struggle dont use a socket with the 12 flats, use one with the 6 flats if you can find any thing, get some steel wire 1.5mm to 2.5mm, like a welding rod, bend it into a shape similar to the spark plug, you want it so it slides inside the spark plug socket, so it slots into two opposite corners, then at the bottom of the socket, bend the wire out so it can't slide into the socket you want this wire to take up the slack from the corroded plug and socket, you want it a tight fit, so it knocks on, light taps till it goes on, the tapping will also help free the plug hopefully that should get it out also if the car is still a runner, the plug insulator is not damaged, then I would only try knocking the steel pipe on it or a smaller long reach socket, as any thing else might damage the insulator, leaving the plug faulty and then a non runner cheers Joe sorry for the quick sketch, but it should give you the idea

  22. Hi Not sure but there's a few clips of people using it on youtube maybe some one will try it, but it would be good if it works most headlights lenses are made of a polycarbonate type plastic, so the right chemical would clean it, like the first wipe they use, second wipe might be some kind of sealer if I see it listed over in the uk, I would be tempted to try it cheers Joe
