  1. Kinda like the "best of British " photo at the moment. Got 11 more weeks to wait yet.
  2. The rear belt is for the diesel pump timing and is recommended changing at 150k and yes it's at the back of the left hand side bank. When you've got the front off you may as well change the water pump. Don't forget to change the aux belt too
  3. A 2000 x reg will be a mk1 S type, the cup holder is screwed to the centre consol from underneath. I found this out when I got a unit out of a scrapper for my '99 it doesn't matter if you break the tabs off as it never bothered mine. Not had anything to do with the earlier sat nav but it could be the disc ar the player. Hesitating and flat spot could be a failing coil, needs to be code read to confirm.
  4. I like them on the S type. Don't like them on the X type though, doesn't look right. Here's mine, £15 off fleabay.
  5. Most definitely the cam chain tensioners. My old 3.0 petrol did it. I've read about putting some oil flush product through the engine and then good quality oil in and it should cure it. Only other option is to replace but the costs are high!!
  6. It usually stands for special equipment but in some cases it means spend? Enormously!!
  7. Here you go. http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/jaguar/s-type/saloon/equipment/ Your welcome.
  8. It needs to be programmed to the ecu. Think it's a dealer or an Indy that will do it.
  9. Fuse box in drivers side footwell. Not sure which one but it should be in the hand book.
  10. There's a thread on jaguarforum about a guy swapping a V8. Not a hard job if your handy on the spanners and have the space. Can't believe how big the engine is!! Here's the link. http://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=83699
  11. Seen them but she says no. Might surprise her!!
  12. Most likely cause is diesel contamination of the engine oil due to dpf failure. Often caused by short journeys so regen cycle goes haywire.
  13. Here's the eBay number 291500305284 The listing doesn't mention the S type but are a direct replacement. Dead easy to fit. .
  14. Bought these off eBay a couple of weeks ago and they arrived today. 5 minutes to fit although they weren't listed as fitment to the S type. What do you think??
  15. It's probably for either the rear sun blind or the premium sound sub woofer.
  16. I had the same problem with cruise not working, had an ASL over speed warning and park brake fault flash briefly. Coincided with driving through a flooded bit of road. Got no joy from jaguar and my AA mates diagnostic machine didn't flag anything up. After about 6 weeks of it not working I had a dsc fault show up and after stopping and restarting the car it disappeared. Cruise started working fine again too.
  17. Altering the tyre size/profile can invalidate your insurance in the event of a serious accident. Also, I don't think jaguar just thought " that size looks right" they spend millions to get to the correct size!!
  18. Continental sport contact J rated 245/45-17vr tyres is what I've got fitted. Gonna need two rears soon so I'll be going for them.
  19. If there anything like the Mgf ones they will be held on by little star type clips which snap the lug off if your not careful!! "SWMBO" pointed out the other day that my dash wood is lighter than the gearstick surround wood.
  20. I'd think so due to the colour options. They come up on eBay too. What's your plan??
  21. Quick google search brought up these. Convertible?? Another view of the estate. Wonder how well it would've sold??
  22. None were built.. Only jag estates are X type and XF.
  23. Anyone on here own or know of its whereabouts?? Nothing sinister!!
