  1. Hi if its head gasket, it will use water, if its using no water, then its not head gasket it could have a air lock in the heater system which could stopping it heating up, but if its been driven the air usually makes its way out, will have a look how you bleed your system of air sounds like it might have a couple of issues is the fan working if the fan is working and not getting hot, not getting hot is usually the heater valve, quite a common problem the aircon might have a leak, thats why the compressor is not kicking in, there's a pressure switch that disables the aircon if the gas is low most air con places with do a check usually for less than 20 pounds, to tell you if the system is gas tight, I can get my s-type R, regassed for 30 pounds cheers Joe
  2. hi you can get them from british car parts https://www.britishparts.co.uk/products?utf8=✓&name_or_keywords=HND3075AA but I would look on ebay there much cheaper for a used one they should be a nice silver color, they start to a gold color around the edges as they fail, cheers Joe
  3. HI Have a look here, don't know how close they are to you http://www.jagheadlinings.com/ cheers Joe
  4. Hi If the gearbox is low on oil, you will get faults you can get kits off ebay, that have the pan/filter, pins, oil and mecha sleeve in the kit reasonably easy to do, go on youtube, jagtv theres a video showing how to do it, change the mechatronic sleeve, on the gearbox, as there known to leak on earlier cars, later sleeves have been altered to fix this personally I'd get second hand wings as there cheap and might be lucky and drop on the same color check your brake pipes as well there a weak spot on these if you need any manuals pm me and i will sort you out cheers Joe
  5. Hi and Welcome Post some pics up what needs doing cheers Joe
  6. HI after 1998, you cant make your own tow bar, it has to be tested and have all the specs attached to it and displayed http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Towbars-and-the-law-are-you-aware-of-the-regulations-/10000000001097928/g.html you can get one from the states, if its cost effective, I'm not sure. but you can get them http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Curt-Class-1-Trailer-Hitch-Wiring-for-Jaguar-XK8-XKR-/121047154421?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Curt-Class-1-Euro-Trailer-Hitch-117501-w-1-7-8-Ball-for-Jaguar-XK8-XKR-/400553744850?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 cheers Joe
  7. Hi Just wondered Why? cheers Joe
  8. Hi I would look in the boot first, check that is all dry then I'd remove both door steps trims and push the carpet back and have a look there was a known fault on early s-type's, that water got in under the rear door step trims also windscreens some times with age peel and water leaks from behind the glass cheers Joe
  9. hi look here https://www.gov.uk/put-registration-number-vehicle can be done online between 7AM and 7PM this is how I did mine took only a few minutes cheers joe
  10. hi you can do it all online it transfers over straight away cheers Joe
  11. HI Its also a mot fail, so I'd get it done, so it does not add up at mot time cheers Joe
  12. HI On the s-type, its in the mirror mount, along with the rain sensor cheers Joe
  13. hi you will want the mounting bracket as well cheers Joe
  14. HI A picture says it all
  15. Hi You might be lucky, when you take it apart, some people put black tape over the led so might be a quick fix cheers Joe
  16. hi found a better pic I have arrow on the d2b connector and cable cheers Joe
  17. hi I'm sure its the one arrow in red it will have a link in it if there is no where for it to plug into, may also be tapped over we need a wider picture!!! the suspense is killing me!!!
  18. hi I's sure its got one, its usually higher up take a wider picture of that area why would it have one and not the other cheers Joe
  19. Hi I did mine a while ago and it can all be done online within a few days I bought mine off dvla, you get the certificate through in a few days and they include the transfer then you go online and swap it over, it automatically does the v5 log book, which comes through a few days later, your mot is done and tax, pop your plates on and job done got my plates online and they arrived together, all done within 3 days save your old plates, because if you transfer your plate, the old number plate usually goes back cheers Joe
  20. HI At the moment She's all wrapped up for winter, In its bubble Next time I start her up will take some pictures, they do look much better, more up to date cheers Joe
  21. Hi Unfortunately if there the sames as the s-type, its not that simple, new clocks will need programing, to get them working and might even immobilize the car, as its part of the security system it would be easier to repair cheers Joe
  22. hi I dont think its too hard, remove the wood trim, and few screws and the clocks are out just dont switch the ignition on without the clocks back in eml is not a mot fail, but airbag one and abs one is, if they are not working if yo look on youtube ther will be a clip of how to remove clocks look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g20GOhVAoc cheers Joe
  23. Hi This is a Dodgy dealer trick, pop the bulb and hey presto no faults But on the s-types its a led, not sure about the x-type, but its most probably the same the led is easily removed also, the light should light up and then go out, same as with the others, like airbags, abs, these are also usually checked on a mot you might have to remove the clock/dash to be sure looking at dashes on ebay, there no bulbs at rear, so there led's and its just a few clips to them apart, so at a guess, they have popped the led off the board cheers Joe
  24. HI Look under that foam, it might be taped over top plug is the fibre optic, bottom plug is wiring the connector is only small the fibre optic d2b is a loop, so basicically you have to extend the loop to include the multichanger cheers joe
  25. Hi hard to say from that picture look more towards the rear, more towards the rear light the connectors are tapped up some times with a foam tape, to stop them rattling have you a wider pic of that whole side cheers joe
