  1. Here is the part number you quoted and available. https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/c2z12659-steering-column-lock.html
  2. Welcome to the forum Mark. A steering lock is worth getting as it acts as a visual deterrent. The best thing to buy is a couple of Faraday pouches to keep your fobs in when you’re not using the car.
  3. Assuming your car is fault free, when fully locked there is a natural discharge of 30milliamps, anything above this figure is considered to be a parasitic drain due to a fault. If you do have a “parasitic drain” then all a CTEK will do is mask the problem, although it will keep your battery charged.
  4. Try Michelin’s, you won’t be disappointed.
  5. It’s more than likely that your “alarm chirp sounder” may be the source of the draw. It is underneath the drivers side bonnet catch. A CTEK will only mask the problem until it’s resolved.
  6. Have a read of this, it will give you all the info you require. https://www.jaginfo.org/threads/oil-service-top-extraction-method-v6-diesel.93529/#post-2364121
  7. Excellent work and a very neat installation too.🤙
  8. Welcome to the forum. Forcing them will do more harm than good. You will need to remove the painted cover first. This will reveal the amount of crud that has built up around the operating mechanism, all of which needs to be cleaned out. Lubricate on completion of cleaning and you should be ok.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Yes you have done the right thing, enjoy.👍

  11. This is the one, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303707027552
  12. No settings to change, you are responsible for ensuring the car is in park before exiting the vehicle.
  13. Just single lock the car on the fob, this should disable the internal and inclination sensors whilst maintaining the security of the car.
  14. You would need to remove the trim panel to get in there properly, as per the picture. If that doesn’t solve the noise then you can get replacements for them.
  15. Here is a picture, not my car, of the offending article.
  16. In behind that grill is the air sensor and fan. Generally, the reason for the buzzing is a build up of dust. Try a squirt of compressed air from one of those computer cleaning cans.
  17. That circuit board has burnt out, that’s the black bits. As far as I’m aware, they do not supply the circuit board separately. As long as you find the whole console from the same model car, it will simply be plug and play.
  18. Post up some pictures when you get it and enjoy.
  19. Keep your battery above 12.4v at all times and you’ll suffer less problems. If you don’t drive the car often then, as suggested above, a CTEK maintainer is the way to go.
  20. Usual problem is dry joints within the console, general fix is to replace with a used unit. A code reader may shed more light on it for you.
  21. Nikisil linings only went up to 2000MY, after that, better linings were used so no need to worry on that score.
  22. If you have the money then buy it, it is a fair price for what it is and it’s condition and mileage.
  23. You have got something wrong with your car. Either a failing battery or more likely, a parasitic draw. A maintainer will only mask the problem, though still a good idea to get one.
  24. If you continue to keep your battery at between 11.9v and 12.4v then I’m afraid you will be replacing it every 2 to 3 years. At 12.4v the battery starts to sulphate and that is what strangles the life out of it. Keep the battery fully charged at 12.8v by using a maintainer and you’ll have far less problems.
